anyone here agrees that in swgb the jedi/sith are too expensive to create and that they have alot of research that are expensive to research too and that they play a small part in deciding the outcome of the game. even the bounty hunter that costs only food and carbon can kill them and is even more useful than them.

I gonna have to disagree with you on this one. I think that Jedi masters (not sith, they cost too much) can quickly turn the tide of battle and here's the reason why ... CONVERSION. If you have 10 masters on your side with support, you can quickly take away a great deal of the opposing force by converting them. It takes some good micro skills but it can be devastating (have the supporting cast kill off bounties). You can even take buildings providing you can wait that long. Offensively, they're not bad either and they now regenerate health automatically.
Don't like converting units/ suck at micro, then research the mind trick (550 nova down from 750). Then put an invisible master in the 'no attack stance'. He'll make an excellent scout and you won't need to research bothan spy net if you have a few of them standing in the enemy's base.
As for knights, they are great to use in a rush, if you beat your opponent to tech-3 and they aren't expensive (to me).
I don't use padawans for attacks but I still make them to capture holocrons (which are a must if you plan on making jedi later :) ).
The masters are expensive, but if you need more nova, get more workers, holocrons, or set up a trade. Almost every upgrade has gone down in price too. I used to never make jedi in SWGB, but in SWGB:CC, I always make them! :ben: :saberg: :saberb: :saberr:

I agree with both of you. I like that the jedi are a little cheaper to create now, but they could be just a touch cheaper (perhaps 25 - 50 less nova). In addition, I agree that bounty hunters chew them up for lunch. Bounty hunters usually are hired, which would seem to me that they need to also cost nova, perhaps 100 nova. This would prevent bounty hunters from being all over the map. Jedi are not much use as a scout if they cant get by bounty hunters which can see them even with the jedi mind trick.

nah, Jedis rock!!!! in CC tehy are together with a little air cover unbeatable, and in GB i use em to escort my pummels when i drop... :lsduel: :lightning:

Good points. Would it make sense if Bounties cost nearly the same as jedi knights? Or maybe they could cost 100 carbon, food, nova, and ore? I don't know, I'm just speculating.

If those questions aren't realistic enough how bout this one: do Bounties have a true counter or do you just use anything against them (besides jedi :rolleyes: )?

Anyhting that can take troops easily takes bonutys DT, HDD, reapters in numbers, strike mechs turrets.


As for Jedi their better but still are to weak when faced with the number of bonuty hunters that a eneemy can mustter. Thou a master can acutlly take a bonuty hunter down 1 v 1 now however odds go down alot when theirs more then 6 in group. They really should cost nova what bounty hunter wants to be payed in food and metal none in the movies thats for sure.

I don't think Jedi suck...
The Republic's Jedi are amazing since they are cheaper and have an holocron bonus. The masters can easily cut into any infantry formation, mechs and hvy weaps!!!

They are very usefull against those artillery and cannons and Assault Mechs : just get your jedi near it so it will not be able to shoot you. :ben:

Try you amazing masters on a box of Repeaters they might win if they have 1 master to ever 2 troopers but the cost will be horrid. He will have lost about 500 carbon and 400 food you will have lost thousnads in NOVA and FOOD. And god help you if he boxes 4 to 6 Bonuty hunters in the middle.

An Air Cruiser? No need, at least if it's just the Repeaters. Remember that unless those four bounties are in the middle, then you won't be shooting the Jedi until they're right on you. You get one round of fire before you lose a Repeater for every Jedi there is. Repeaters don't do quite the number on Masters that they used to, y'know. Although if you're Confed, possibly Wooks or Rebels as well, then your guys can survive one extra saber hit... which might help somewhat.

It is difficult to overplay the improvements they made to the Jedi, Masters in particular. Even a couple of Bounties go down fast - you need reasonable numbers to take down the Masters, now.

If you do have that box of Repeaters filled with Bounties, then I might give it a miss and just trot off round the back of your base, singing the Happy Jedi Mind Trick Song and converting turrets to hide in. Which would be letting off, what, three shots now that Jedi can fire out of towers? Sod the main generator, target the Bounty Hunters...

One thing I love about jedi is their ability to convert shield generators (especially if you have a power droid, workers to build a power core, or a second jedi to convert a core). Gives your Jedi shields on top of the regenning hps and makes it a lot easier to kill the opposition... at least in the radius of the shield.
