I calculated the odds that this would work versus the odds that I was doing something incredibly stupid...and I went ahead anyway.

Of course not THIS spring http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/rolleyes.gif) I hope it doesn't get pushed back any further. You'll be able to run it for sure if you get a new graphics card.

I second that motion for a JK2 board.

After it's officially announced, that is. http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/wink.gif)

It is supposed to use a Quake 3 engine, so if you can play Q3 you should be ok.

Shouldn't we wait for an official word from LEC first before putting op a JKII Message Board.

Wouldn't it be silly if we already have a JKII forum and then. "The new game is Indy and the Infernal Machine for DC" http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/biggrin.gif)

maybe this summer i'll check into getting a voodoo 3 or greater graphics card. I've got enough to get it now, but that'd mean taking ALL my savings money.

And that's exactly what we'll do. No official announcement from LEC, no message board for the game.

Now for the big question: Is it editable?

I just got a new graphics card. I'm still working out the bugs.

I'll consider this news as impetus to finish and uninstall DS9: The Fallen ASAP, and to give up on Voyager: Elite Force and Borg Assimilator. http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/frown.gif)

I don't have Quake 3 or a voodoo3 but will a Voodoo3 be able to handle an "advanced Q3" or will we need something a bit more meatier? perhaps a geforce2/3?

A voodoo 3 is considered a lower-class card by current standards. Imagine how it will perform down the road. I might also add that 3dfx was sold to nvidia, so the voodoo cards are a dying breed. The geforce cards have onboard t&l, which makes them run extremely well for Q3. My advice would be to wait until the game comes out, play it for a few days on your old card, then buy a geforce 2 and be overwhelmed by the difference. The geforce 3 is highly overpriced and will remain so for quite some time.

I wouldn't even possibly be able to run it on my current system. When should the price on geforce3s drop? How much is a geforce2 ultra going for?

True enough, editing is only a side privilege. I agree with the sentiment. ; )

I care.

If it is not editable, then it could die an early death like some many other fun games out there. Without the ability to edit, alot of players get bored with it after a time.

Of course, if it doesn't play well, editing won't matter much.

I can live without editing. It would be a nice bonus to a good game of course.

And would be worth something if people actually took advantage of it and used it to make something worthwhile. ; )
