Maybe nobody cares at this point, but here's an example I can relate to (and it doesn't involve vague explanations of a palm pilot, which I have never used):

Black and White which was recently released, features a glyph type system in game. Since the game is pretty much entirely mouse-driven, there are some things that in order to activate/use them you need to move the mouse in a certain motion (a little icon appears in the corner that traces the route, and then you draw it onscreen).

The whole deal with Obi-Wan's glyph system wasn't that it was impossible, just that some folks voted against it and so the feature was dropped. Anyway, curious souls might check that out to see what all the fuss is/was about.
