Who posted Jedi Knight 2 on main page? (because whoever did that was just low!)

Whoever did that should get fired! That was not funny at all. No one should play with peoples emotions like. I mean when I first read that my heart jumped and I got very excited. But then, I figured out it was an April Fools Joke. And that kind of Joke is not funny. Whoever posted that had a twisted and sick sense of humor! http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/mad.gif) http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/mad.gif) http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/mad.gif) http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/mad.gif) !!!!!!!!

Someone at infinite-machine was responsible for the *joke*.

I didn't think it was very nice either.

So I want infinite-machine to contact Lucasarts, and come to some agreement about producing the game for real.

If they won't do that, they're just lame...

Lighten up guys.. it was fair game. I suppose you want to tar and feather TFN.net too, because they posted even 'worse' jokes, and they are viewed by many more people, hence they probably 'fooled' far more.

Posting jokes/hoaxes/pranks on websites on April 1st is harmless tradition, surely we aren't the exception when it comes to this?

Just admit you were 0wned and let it go.

Now where did I put that bucket of tar http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/biggrin.gif)

For the record, I retract my previous statement. Infinite Machine were not responsible - and I apologise if I caused them any offence. http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/frown.gif)

I still think it's a good idea for them to become involved in a Jedi Knight sequel however, since quite a few of them worked on the original. http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/wink.gif)

Oh well, back to Unreal for a while...

Yeah, I was totally excited when I first read the bulletin, but then, I realized that it was an april fools joke, and was totally pissed. I should have seen it coming on such a hot topic as Dark Forces III, but alas, I am very gullible.

Anyone remember PSM's (Play Station Magazine) april fools joke of last year? They said that Playstation was releasing a game with a totally nude heroine named Valkyre Wilde as the star. There were news announcements: "Will your children be playing x rated games?" and stuff like that. Very funny since people were freaking out until PSM said that it was just a practical joke.

Anyway, I suggest that everyone not take the practical joke thing so personal, and for now, stick with Jedi Knight and MOTS until LEC finally gets their act together for real.

I think the joke on Starwars.com was better...some of us do apreciate the green and black screens of the past.

Yeah, I thought the press release was legit at first too, but then I took a second, closer look at it. April 1st, after all. http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/smile.gif) Upon reading again something bugged me about the showdown or whatever it said against the Wookies and it just didn't seem.......right, like a good Dark Forces game would end.

Nevertheless, there's always hope that another Jedi Knight game will be made, and considering the explosion of Star Wars games in the past year, both those that have been released and those being worked on, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw another Star Wars FPS along the lines of Dark Forces soon.
(If you know anything to the contrary please post it because I haven't been keeping up on news around here)

And Kurgan's right; there were far worse jokes played around the net. One that I can think of that really annoyed me was Planet Half-Life's; they made it look like some Middle Eastern terrorist organization had hacked their site. Weird...

Forgive Jedi SuperBuen's ignorance.. I'm sure he meant to say "Jedi Knight 2" is correct.

; )

If you wanted to call it Dark Forces 3, it would probably be "Dark Forces III" but then again, look what Midway did with Mortal Kombat (MKII, Mk3). Really who can say? The rumor began with "Jedi Knight 2," which was just repeated in the prank. I like "Jedi Knight 2" better myself.

*gets up to hold SuperBuen back but then decides that he'd like to watch this* *goes to get some popcorn* anybody else want anything while i'm in there?

I calculated the odds that this would work versus the odds that I was doing something incredibly stupid...and I went ahead anyway.

Nope. Kurgan is going hanging for a few minutes. He just needs to be reminded that it's Dark Forces 3.
