I have scratched my Disk 2 for Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II game. I get to level 8 and cannot proceed. Help!
two things here,
1. Isn't level eight were you have to switch to disk 2?
2. have you tried using the cd crack thats on the cd so you don't need to use the cds?

Just as long as it's done just how I say...
ask some one with a cd-r(w) to burn the second disk for you? you did buy the game already so I don't see it as copyright infringement.
In the days before hard drive, they actually recomended you copying your floppy disks for games onto blanks before playing the game for just that reason.
You actually don't need Disk 2. Just press cancel and it should proceed (If I remeber corectly). The only thing you'll miss is all the cutscenes. Oh wait, that's bad

Yes, using the CD crack can lead to problems if you don't have the crack for the second CD. To solve, turn off cutscenes.
But if your cd really is "scratched" as you claim, you can buy an inexpensive ($10 here) cleaning kit to genty clean your cd and it should work again. Remember, never use circular strokes when cleaning!
If all else fails, just buy the game again. It's cheap, and it'll teach you to take better care of your games.

Like I have to do with MotS (tried cleaning, re-installing, using the on-CD crack, nothin' works).
Real hell of it is I ~do~ take good care of my games.

BM, do you know the scratching is actually the problem?
Do other CD-ROM's work in your drive (so it isn't the drive)?
Did it work before?
Not sure I can help you. Just buy another copy or get somebody you know who has it to burn you another copy (since you already own the game).

Yeah, Kurgan, I'm sure it's the disk. The CD drive still works (I can still play JK), and MotS worked right up 'till I accidentally dropped the disk.
