I have been Working on a Kotor Ultimate Robe mod. This is no Ordinary Robe pack There will be at least over 45 Robes, for Male Characters and Female.

There are Many robes done and to be Done.

Screenshots
------------------

(Green) Jedi Padawan Robe's, and Bastila's Padawan Robe's

Im planning on making 50% of the Mod are Jedi Robes and the other 50% are Sith.

I'm looking for ideas for robes. In the Comments Section post your ideas of robes like Example " Special Jedi Guardian Robes"

UPDATES
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. UPDATE: Padawan Robes are Done. All Padawan robes were tested and all of them work.

2. UPDATE: Bastila is gonna have her custom robes. I thought about Bastila and thought " Maybe you can Obtain Bastila's Robes by dialog with her. " I do have some skill on scripting so i'll go with that :)

This sounds like total BS, just like your Total Conversion. You have no screenshots, no proof. Nothing.

In my personal opinion, I think you are just saying you have things done so you can be praised by the experienced modders here at LF, ergo making them want to "help" you(do all the work themselves).

However, if you can provide us with screenshots, I will not hesitate to change my opinion about your mod, if there is one at all.

They look nice. Maybe show the others too.

I would advise putting the screenshots in your first post though, just for more convenience to the viewers.

I am getting tired of a million simple recolor mods. Try to learn to make them look different than they did when you started, not just another color combo. Quality not quantity.

You should probably post some pictures of that. Its far more interesting to see new detail than recolors. I could probably write a batch utility to make near every possible recolor combination imaginable. Its not too interesting.

I think we should give LordVader a break this time around. He's showing progress unlike his last few projects. Let's give him some time to deliver.

This thread seems to be attracting spam from various people, I've left posts in but I don't want to see any more posts debating if this thread is a "real" update thread or not. Feel free to offer constructive criticism of the update posts; I also do not want to see any posts which inform us that there will be updates soon. -- j7

I will offer my thoughts as a modder (and not moderator); in your first post LordVader1 you inform us that;

This is no Ordinary Robe pack There will be at least over 45 Robes, for Male Characters and Female.

But then you post reskins which frankly will have taken 30 seconds in photoshop playing with the variations, of which you can find a million such modifications on KotOR Files. I'll be frank and say everything in this thread I have seen is ordinary; the skins are quick and cheap. Take your time over them, actually re-texture, instead of just offering recolours and don't inform us of how you have done re-textures when that criticism is offered... Actually post a picture of a proper re-texture once you have done it. Take your time there is no need to rush, great mods take a long time to do, with patience, skill and perseverance. They are great mods precisely because they take lots of time and effort. As Yoda informs us in ESB, the Dark Side is quicker and more seductive, but rarely in life to things of quality get produced with a quick slap-dash approach.

I'm affraid it at least seems to me when people make a post about a mod they are going to do with no evidence, then produce quick slap-dash pictures of something which would of taken 30 seconds to do, they are seeking approval and acclaim. Neither of which do I think are good reasons to mod; make a mod for yourself, that you like, instead of having a sole motivation of approval and acclaim.

j7's 2 cents...

Heres Just Proof Im not making a Cheap mod, on Dantooine I have made many Dialogs to the Jedi so you can get Padawan Robes in a Whole new way.
I will post another video of this but a different Dialog with a Jedi. Please take your time to see this Video as this mod is no fake.

http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/3544/jbj.mp4)

This is just this modders 2 cents... I'm not trying to be harsh, but if I'm right I am trying to help...

May I suggest that if your making a robe modification that you concentrate on the robes first and then worry later about the method of getting them in game?

Have you really disproved my query about you doing this for approval or acclaim with that youtube video, or proved my point?

Now modding also depends what your skillsets are, for example some people are good at making skins, other people are good at scripting. You may well be good at scripting but I haven't seen anything yet to suggest you are a talented skinner; something which is surely important for a large Robe modification? There's nothing wrong with not being good at skinning, and you can of course work to get good at it, but as of yet there is not one true reskin in this thread. If scripting is something your good at why not do a mod which plays to your strengths? For example; I can't script, so I get people such as Qui-Gon Glenn to do that area of mods for me. You may of course be a great skinner, but having not shown me any real skins I can't tell.

The crux of this, is have you taken on board what I've said? The above youtube link still seems to me to be a quick attempt to "prove him wrong" rather than taking on board I am actually trying to help you. I'd be far more impressed if you posted some kind of entirely experimental skin which totally changed the Jedi Robe texture rather that the quick recolours you've done.

Honestly, the scripted conversation aside (which does contain some grammar errors, and phrasing that would be good to correct, should you be interested in suggestions for dialogue) everything else in this thread would of taken me 5 minutes to make.

Essentially the question remains for you; have you begun a too ambitious project too quickly? You titled this "the Ultimate Robe mod" serious question for you, do you honestly think your robes are better than Achilles, 90sk, Darth Jacen, Prime and Xavier2 to name but a few of the great Robe mods for K1.

Final thought; if you'd just posted a WIP thread of things you were doing, rather than posting two total conversion threads and then a WIP thread entitled "KotOR Ultimate Robe Mod" do you think you would of got the reaction you got here? 1 Failed total conversion mod is fine, but are you now building up a history of threads.

You should edit your photo's so we can see closer, you don't need to show us your entire screen. You can just cut and paste smaller bits, I'd also suggest looking at your NPC via the first person view (caps lock) to have a closer look.

Example; http://www.lucasforums.com/picture.php?albumid=710&pictureid=8521)

I can't tell how detailed it is as the picture isn't close enough...

Woops, sorry, here you go

http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/5766/swkotor2011100416060433.jpg)

First things first; depending on the spec of your machine you may want to do several things; from the games main menu click "options" -> graphics -> advanced, and make sure the texture pack is on high, put the AA upto 8, and put the Antroscopy upto 8 to. That will make your screen shots a lot smoother. Most modern rigs will happily run KotOR with all the settings maxed....

Well, as a test you can see how the collar works and does have more detail... My main suggestion for you is to start from scratch, delete the whole back texture and have a play with what you can do.

For example here's me experimenting with one of the KotOR models;

http://www.lucasforums.com/picture.php?albumid=435&pictureid=4033)

I'd suggest you have a go at messing around with the robe your working on.
