"Starkiller" is a kid who was turned into a Dark Jedi in less than ten years, and Sidious was a Sith Lord for decades. I see no reason he shouldn't be able to wipe the floor with this guy.

Yes, it has been confirmed by the developers that Starkiller is what Luke would have been had he joined the Dark Side.
Well, he did join the Dark Side for a short time, and still couldn't beat Sidious alone. I think TKA-001 is right, nobody can just shove Darth Sidious around like that. But then again, this is a game.
It doesn't show who ultimately wins the "duel", though. And Palpatine seems to be the type who only displays as much power as is necessary to solve the current situation. Better to have enemies underestimate you than face you being prepared for your full might.
And Palpatine is still around decades later, while the Sec. Apprentice is gone, or remains completely unknown. :)

Don't count the chickens before they are all hatched because there is more to Starkiller then you all think. Trust me I have seen some increiable footage with Sidus, Vader and Starkiller concering Starkillers death
