2 ways by either turning off 3rd person lightsaber in options or if you have it on by pressing P to switch from 3rd person the 1st. Seriously though the game is much better with 3rd person saber.

Well that worked in Jedi Outcast but I don't see an option in Jedi Academy for turning off 3rd person lightsaber, and the view toggle only works with guns for some reason.

There isn't an option in Jedi Academy for a 1st person lightsaber view.

Someone made a mod for Jedi Academy that works pretty good I think, he used some view commands to give you the 1st person view and linked it to a letter like in JO, I'd give you the link but JK3files is down at the moment for some maintenance.

In single player JA, you're out of luck, sorry. Yes you can mess with the camera options but it's not perfect (there's a mod on jk3files.com that does this for you, as I said, it just uses scripting so it's not perfect, like I think the camera goofs up when you run backwards with force speed for example).

However in MP, it's pretty easy, just do cg_fpls 1 in console. Then when you switch to lightsaber it will be first person (only).

A better solution for MP is OJP Basic mod, which lets you use both 1st and 3rd for saber, you can see the rest of your body (including your feet looking down, or you can just toggle it so it's just a floating blade) and synchs it to the model you're using (well, most models anyway).

I haven't tried multiplayer yet. I usually like to finish the SP campaign in games first. Could you tell me a little bit more about this "Open Jedi Project" I keep hearing about?
