True Farlander, I think you could have done XwA alot better if you added, like in X-Wing, that you can add the wingmen and it would be cool if you could decide more things before u go in flight.

And also XwA has the best music ever!!!
TF has cool Imperial music. Though the quality aint like XwA.

TF is the only flight game I finished, It was the good stuff,I had lots of fun with it. I remember that I played so much that I knew every single craft, satelite, base name and much more.

TF is the best flight game

TIE Fighter ROCKS!!

I also think TF is the best game LA have released. But I didn't like the win95 version. Hate CD music.

I think the coolest mission in TF is Battle 5
mission 1. When u clear a minefield and have to kill traitors for the first time. That mission is awesome!

I liked the graphics update for TF tho, it certainly didn't hurt the game. My fav missions are the ones with Vader of course, and the one when you're in the missile boat, and take out an Interdictor, a station, and 3 frigates http://www.xwingalliance.com/forums/biggrin.gif)

U just gotta love that FF music while fighting!

The game Red Storm Rising had graphics that looked like they were created by fifteen blind, drunk monkeys, yet was based on a very good novel. It had a GREAT STORY, but no gameplay. It was not at all fun.
Rainbow Six had excellent graphics and a great story and great gameplay.
That's all I've got right NOW...

I can only think of ONE recent game that's worth playing, this is a total miracle: it has great story and game play, it also has modern graphics (I don't really care for that part): It's Grim Fandago, that game is the only exeption to my whole "the fun went away along with the pixels" idea

Fate Of Atlantis was the best Indy game, but I liked Infernal Machine too, simply because of all the things you could do. It made you feel like you were really controling everything. What's cooler than jumping a cliff in a jeep, jumping onto Soviet trucks, and swinging over things with your trustee whip? Absolutely nothing!

At least the first version. Don't have the game so i'm not sure which one is worthless (think its the first one). U like characters with square faces and hands?? I don't.

Grim Fandango i havn't played, wish i had. I love all the LA roleplaying games. Think Full Throttle is a great game. So cool beeing a biker on a cool motorcycle, with cool background music. And i thought Mark Hammil did a great voice.

You want recent games worth playing? Porsche Unleashed(Got it monday, playing non stop), Half-Life(I play at least twice a week online), The Sims, Deus Ex, No One Lives Forever, Metal Gear Solid(Gotta love this game), Project IGI(also known as I'm Going In), Black & White(Unreleased, Can't wait to play it), MechWarrior 4, Jet Grind Radio(Dreamcast), Metal Gear Solid 2(Unreleased, PS2, too bad it's never coming to the PC), just to name a few. Those are(or will be) games of the "fun" type. Check them out, if you like "fun" games.

"According to this Jem person, anything that runs in a resolution over 640x480 and has 3d models instead of sprites does not belong to the "fun" genre of games..."
-------------------------

That is not my way of thinking.

now this is my way of thinking:
Great graphics and 3D sound cannot substitute for lack of gameplay; sounds and graphics are not the things that make a good game, GamePlay is the important stuff, Gameplay!
People have been "blinded" by graphics and sound over and over again so they forgot what's a real fun game all about. and "anything that runs in a resolution over 640x480" is where u can find the best games because at that time they didn't have to worry about graphics or sound, they had to find a great story and make a game that everyone would love: they would concentrate only on that. Nowadays they concentrate on graphics, graphics and graphics(how many direct 3D Hardware acceleration have been released in such a small amount of time!)!!

anyways I could go on for ever but I'll stop there.

oh yeah, I did say that Grim Fandango was a good game and it does not run in a resolution under 640x480 and has sprites instead of 3d models.
