I was thinking about employing a first person shooter mode in solo mode if the character is carrying a blaster. it could be an optional mode, like stealth or first person view. whatchoo think?

since they havent already putt that into the game, that would take alott of time for the programers to do. and at this point, the more there is for them to do, the more the story is going to degrade

I was thinking of sugesting the same thing, because the Ranged Combat could only be improved with some animations. But I realised that I was wrong.

Even though I don't know much about RPG playing as most people do here, I realise that the core of RPG playing is based on a number system where you have to get a correct number in order to win. So, bassicly, running around and going all-Matrix like, can't be implanted. Sorry.

That's all what I have to say.

The turrent mini-game and the Ebon Hawk battles are enough.

Please, for the love of the force, do not ever say that again.

IMO, it destroys the whole feel that's been established with Kotor.

I do enjoy FPS games, but imagining it here make's me feel all icky inside.

Whats next... Grand Theft Auto: Jedi City???

I prefer more storyline, not more random brainless killing.

No.

Is it me or are all these "lets turn KOTOR into a FPS game" made by new users with less than 50 posts?

I honestly don't get it. These FPS suggestions should all be on Jedi Knight forums suggesting these features be implemented if/when a new JK game is made.

These suggestions are like going to a Civilization or Empire at War forum and suggesting that it would be so much cooler if you could switch in to FPS mode and take control of one of your troops and play a twitch shooting game.

^ Three cheers.

I hate FPSes.

Actually I think one of the reasons KotOR appeals to more girl gamers is because it has story and is not an FPS. So pretty please don't turn it into one!

There is no reason to panic because:

1. KOTOR is a RPG, they are not allowed to do it
2. They don't want to do it
3. They won't do it

Oh, sure, why not? It'd be fun to shoot once, wait a few seconds, shoot again and wait. Then hold your mouse button to charge your shot and shoot and wait, then snipe and wait, then shoot three times (no more, no less) and wait and then do it all over again!

gee, I can't wait for this mode to be implemented.

I have to ask those who insist on FPS in KOTOR: have you ever played and enjoyed games like Baldurs Gate I and II? Planescape: Torment? Fallout I and II? Neverwinter Nights?

The reason I ask is it seems people that ask for FPS in KOTOR are people that probably aren't really interested in "RPGs". They're more interested in Star Wars, and thus they want KOTOR to match their ideal game (a FPS game).

Am I wrong?

@IndianaSolo - No, it seems you are correct.

If I want an FPS game, I play JA, JO, or JK. I play KotOR (when the damn save isn't corrupt) because it's turn-based... thing... leaves nothing up to your personal skill. If you have "Pause after combat round" on in KotOR, you can play it with a broken arm. Try doing that with JA. You'd break your other arm! And you'd still lose!

EDIT - How dare you post while I do?? :lightning

I dislike the idea of a FPS, but i think it that if if you have a high enough computer skill, you should be able to hack into and control turrets to some extent.

I'm happy enough with the turrets and the swoop racing being FPS, whatever that is. I like the turn based attack combat mode. It doesn't beat the crap out of the controller. :wan:

It's not a bad idea, really. Maybe not KOTOR as a first person shooter, but a First person shooter starwars game wouldn't hurt. Have you ever played RPG/FPS games like Deus Ex and so many others? If you have, you may start to think about it (not an insult).

If you want FPS in a Star Wars game, click here (http://www.lucasforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163)

I see no reason why it should be implemented in KOTOR when you can just as easily talk about these features on that forum.

Same here and I if I wanted that, I would play Episode III which I can't find because my neighbor boy took it.
