Jek Porkins ( Red 6 ) from A New Hope has passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 58. (

That's really unfortunate to see an old favorite like Porkins die at such a young age. I hope his family is getting along ok.

I remember one time, I was watching ANH in school one day (last day of scool in grade 6 - what else were we going ot do?), and when his X-Wing blew up, I poked my friend on the arm and said: "hehe. Bacon." Then this fat guy in front of us turned around and said: "I'm trying to watch the movie, guys" in a really stupid sounding voice. We got kicked out of class for laughing to loudly.

I always joked that "The fat guy always dies first" in movies, cause he did in ANH :) always thought it was funny.
Definitely sad, but I will be glad that seeing him out there at the end of ANH will always bring a smile to my face.
