Well, this was quite sooner than I expected! I don't think its been an hour since I posted screenshots for public opinion in the Holowan forum. Shortly after that post, RedHawke sent me his inspection report.
<edit> Now the Heart of the Force Sabers (http://www.lucasfiles.com/index.php?action=file&id=1475) )
are ready for download at LucasFiles. For some reason, the screenshots posted in reverse order, so the first few you see will be all about the Spirit and Spectre Robes that this mod was made as a companion for. Tell me what you think...

EDIT: As requested by RedHawke, this is a much more detailed description of the mod......

http://img289.imageshack.us/img289/3382/hotfsbr14bk.th.jpg) (http://img289.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hotfsbr14bk.jpg) http://img289.imageshack.us/img289/6619/hotfsbr25qt.th.jpg) (http://img289.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hotfsbr25qt.jpg) http://img289.imageshack.us/img289/1512/hotfsbr35kj.th.jpg) (http://img289.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hotfsbr35kj.jpg)

As a taste of what is here, this is a "Readers' Digest" version of my README.txt.

Short explanation of specific Heart of the Force Sabers:
--------------------------------------------------------
The "Heart of the Force" sabers have extended length blades (longer than regular, but shorter than Malak's) and come in 6 different color combinations. The hilts have an animated texture that makes the clear windows "pulse" with the energies contained within. Also included in this mod is a re-issue of my "Spirit of the Force" and "Spectre of the Force" robes since they are all found in the same place on Nar Shaddaa (Vogga's Treasure Room)

Bright Orange - inspired by the Heart of the Guardian color from K1, this saber has a totally yellow-orange core (no white) surrounded by a hot red-orange glow.

Blacklight - inspired by the black sabers that I have seen released for K1 (and maybe also for TSL). I thought the notion of a black saber was ridiculous, since light isn't black, so I created the closest color combination I could to resemble UV blacklight party lights. Unfortunately, there is no way to make things in its vicinity glow bright when it is ignited.

Sith Red - the blade color texture here belongs to RedHawke. It was borrowed from the RedHawke saber that came with the recruitable PC for K1 by the same name. I always liked its brighter red color.

Silver - nothing spectacular here. It is just one of the sabers because it is one of my favorite colors for them.

Degobah Green - a green blade with a very faint yellow core. It has the same stats as the Jedi Master Prestige Class Saber produced by Maverick187 & RedHawke, but the blade is distinctly different.

Weaponmaster Blue-green - The same color and stats as the Jedi Weaponmaster Prestige Class Saber produced by Maverick187 & RedHawke. I included it because it is one of my all time favorite saber colors!

Adknowledgements:
------------------------------------------------
High praise and ultimate thanks are due to oldflash for creating the model for the "Heart of the Force" Sabers. You are a saint!

Very special thanks to RedHawke for everything he did to make this mod possible (there is simply too much to list).

Thanks to Maverick187 for the inspiration from the Prestige Class Sabers.

And thanks to Fred Tetra for creating the awesome and simple to use kotor editing tool.

Thanks for the compliment, oldflash. However, I would appreciate feedback from forum members that weren't in on the creation of the mod. ;) Please everyone, tell me what you think of these sabers....

I was wondering, anyway to make these crystals compatible with short and dualblade lightsabers?

I really dig the colours, but I prefer a dualbladed saber, and when I put the crystal in one the saber just disappears

I intended the sabers to be only single-bladed (with a slightly longer blade). Sorry. You have my permission to make a mod for doublebladed sabers if you choose.

I cant get this to work through the cheat console, and i am too far in the game to get the item manually. The savegame editor gives me that descriptionless grenade that means the game doesnt recognize the item. What should i do?

EDIT: the crystals appear as white boxes, when i put them in the lightsaber, then that turns into the weird grenade

This sounds like all the mods files aren't in your TSL override, make sure you install all the mods files.

Have you installed any other mods?

How did you make the blades 'slightly longer'?

I was under the impression that it wasn't possible to change the length of the blades beyond the 3 existing lengths - short, normal and malak-greatsaber - but then again, I haven't looked into saber modding much :)

When oldflash made the model based on my original design, I asked him to model the blade longer than a normal saber but shorter than Malak's greatsaber. It was kinda my intention to have a greatsaber that a female character could wield without looking as if she were a hobbit wielding a two-handed sword ;) . Oldflash is a wizard with such things. Just look at his 9 ShortLightSaber hilts (http://www.pcgamemods.com/mod/16370.html) to see what I mean (especially the orange one).

Is this mod compatible with USM?

From the Mod Description at PCGameMods, likely the Readme file as well;

Compatability:
----------------------------------------------
Due to the use of the TSLpatcher to install, there should be no compatability issues with other great mods.

Yes indeed! This mod was released after USM and was made to complement it well.

What's going on with PCgamemods.com? I'd love to download this, but I can't get to the site, as this irritating error message pops up everytime. Is there any time table till they are back up or is this only an issue for some people?

Everyone is asking this...

It's PCGameMods' problem. They're having problems even accessing mods today/yesterday as opposed to before when you could only not upload mods.

Hey everyone, I just joined the forums but have been leeching off of the incredible mods for a few days now. I have a question regarding this mod, and many others. Everytime something is linked to PCGM I get this error message:

Warning: mysqli::mysqli() [function.mysqli]: Too many connections in /home/web/pcgm3/library/db.php on line 22

Warning: Couldn't fetch mysqli in /home/web/pcgm3/library/db.php on line 28

Warning: Couldn't fetch mysqli in /home/web/pcgm3/library/db.php on line 113

I can't manage to download a few mods that I really want (This and High Level Force Powers 2.0)

Any help would be great.

This mod isn't on LucasFiles. I probably should post all of my mods there since it doesn't look like PCGameMods is going to be back up anytime soon. They never really recovered from the problem where noone could upload mods, and now they aren't available for downloads either.

I'm glad to have played even the tiniest part of inspiration to your mod, and Blue-Green has always been a favorite of mine :) Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to use your mod, but it looks very well done and this animated texture thing has piqued my interest :thumbs1:

and I may be a little late, but for anyone who is interested, a direct link download (http://ds1.pcgamemods.com/core/16451/6hotfsbr.zip) from PCgamemods.com

The animated texture was OldFlash's idea. All I had intended was for it to glow, but he added the pulsating effect and that is what inspired the name "Heart" of the Force. You really should try it out.
