LucasArts and MTV partner to debut world premiere of Star Wars Battlefront II game trailer

September 28, 2005

LucasArts and MTV have joined forces to exclusively premiere the new Star Wars Battlefront II trailer today on TRL and MTV News. Showcasing playable Jedi, dynamic space battles, and never-before-seen environments out of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, the Star Wars Battlefront II trailer gives Star Wars and video game fans a sneak peak into the highly anticipated sequel to the best-selling Star Wars game of all time.

Video Games on MTV.com also simultaneously launched a Star Wars Battlefront II dedicated webpage that will debut the trailer and provide in-depth coverage of the game’s development. The site will be updated regularly with behind-the-scenes coverage, news, demos, previews, and much more.

Star Wars Battlefront II for the PS2, Xbox, PC and PSP launches November 1, day-and-date with the release of the Revenge of the Sith DVD.

Cool, it looks like the battles are going to be a lot bigger, judging by the number of units you see on Kashyyyk.

When MTV promotes you isn't that a bad omen these days? Just look at all the quality products they've given us over the years...

I'm inclined to say Kurgan is correct. I would avoid MTV like the plague.

on this mtv site in the download section it has written "Come back soon for a PC demo download". Is this going to be the beta or something a little more awesome?

Redtech, we all know George and his LA, leave out the "unless" and ur totally right, i wont be suprised if George prodouces his Star Wars Series and makes it a "Pay Per View Only" Series, so if u dont pay u wont be able to watch the series

Probably. I wonder if it'll be CG? Wait, that's a stupid question. I should ask if there are any real humans in it?

This is a tough decision, lower my standards and watch MTV about a game I already know more than they're going to discuss, OR, keep watching BSG & the Simpsons....

they should have partnered with G4, even though G4 < Satan after they killed TechTV. At least G4 is targeting an audience that cares about SOME of the technical stuff in games. MTV watchers with their laguna beach and real world [expletive deleted] aren't going to appreciate this game

MTV :blast5:

What's wrong with having a life then? :P

We're only around for a short amount of time, so I might as well skip Simpsons AND MTV and get on with stuff that's actually good! UT2k4 anyone?

Best....weapon....ever!

You know, I reckon if someone modded Onslaught/Assault mode to be Star Wars themed and sold it as a sperate game, SWBF3 would be out of business.

In case anyone is getting some ideas... Republic Commando uses the UT2K4 engine...... ^_^

ya that is a good idea though

Got it, played it, won it. It proverbially owns BF1/2 in the graphics department hands down. Now 'that' would be the best SW game ever, if it just used that kind of technology.

Yes, it always seems like LucasArts is either:
1. Afraid of making too good of a game. They always seem to stop short of that 5/5 star game. It's the little things like actual taunts and a good chat system that make a game with a decent engine good. (*cough*SWBF*cough*) lol
2. Always wants to leave room to make a sequel so they can make MORE money.
swBF is probably pretty good example of the second path and probably the jedi knight series, maybe even RC....

Sorry corporate promoters, I always miss these "cable premiers" even though I have cable now, it's basic.

In any case, anything worthwhile they put out will be on the internet soon enough...
