If they want us to play the beta and report bugs, they should be paying us. We are doing the 'testing phase' of their development.

Well its pretty ridiculous how they are making us pay..

Hopefully a good games site gets the game and puts it on their site for free download..

Once again, you need a special key to activate the Beta.

You need this key you get from FilePlanet.com to activate the Beta. . .and, yes, you need to be subscribed for that, too

I don't think releasing a beta (not trial) in public ain't a good thing, and at least they released something for PC. Can get a lot of information this way and hopefully a better retail version (feedback to devs).

Cool with it.

I like the idea infact. Although their will always be idiots, I think the fact you have to pay for the beta will only attract people with a real interest in the game. This will hopefully result in a more successful test and allow the developers to release a better version 1.

Normally beta testers get paid, don't they? This is a gip!

I'll get my $50 beta in November like everyone else... thank you very much (boy I hope that sarcasm backfires and they prove me wrong!)

Could be worse, they could be making us pay for demos (oh wait... lol!).

Anyway, you guys who are already subscribers, have fun. Find as many bugs as you can and make good suggestions. We can all stand to benefit if they test the crap out of this thing!

A lot of people including me have a "real interest in the game", but i am not going to pay to play a beta for a game which i have already paid for and thats only coming out in a month and a half.

The better way would have been to do a little screening and perhaps
include some fansites. That sure worked for a lot of games before, why
shouldn't it for SWBF 2 ?

LucasArts knows how to make the hot deals, which often end up hurting the customers more than it hurts helps. Examples: Microsoft, Gamespy, File Planet, IGN, etc.

Are Fileplanet subscribers a good source of beta testing quality? Who knows, but it's a nice way for LucasArts to get Fileplanet some extra cash, perhaps in gratitude for promoting their demos and other files over the years.

$$$$ for both companies, woo!
