While I was playing a skirmish mission in X-Wing Alliance. I was in an X-wing along with my 3 other wingmen (by the way I named the group Rogue. And some how apon entering the mission. They said "Lets get them Rogue". Strange?) attacking 4 TIEs (10 waves) who are assign to attack, while the 4 other TIEs (10 waves) to escort an Escort Carrier. I started my attack run on the Escort Carrier which was hard by the way (it really had alot of fire power). Than I immediatly pull out when it got too instense (my shield was at 50) than recharge and decided to enter the hanger of it and attack it from inside when it can't fire at me. So I started the run and I immediatly went into the hanger (I crashed alittle bit because I didn't cut down my speed in time. So my shield was reduce to 134), this is where the glitch beings. After the mini crash and cutting my speed to nuthing. I enter this werid black space (I thought I went inside it) with the hanger exit in front of me. I started firing and I notice I was damamging it. I ended up lasering it till 1% hull, than I start power up my speed slowy and releasing some final laser shots but I somehow ended up crashing(I destroy it upon crashing). Has this ever happened to anyone? I'll be happy to send the film if anyone want a look at it. I haven't watch the film yet by the way. I'm going to after typing this...

I haven't tryed excacly what you did but i have had a fighter fly into a ship, this mainly happens when i turn Invceble on and run into a lot of things. I would say that is was happened, you got past the outer part of the ship into the center, where for some reason there is no data to make you contiune to crash.

You used to be able to do it in Tie fighter all the time just you had to be invinceable (what was weird was the ship could still fire at you and not damage itself. what you found was a mapping error. How can this happen? well first all ships are hollow. the computer can't make a solid shape. Solid objects in games are just walls. what you found is a place where they messed up the wall they could have made it transpartant or just missed a part of the wall. Its like playing any of the quake games just with the mode that makes you walk throught walls and fly. (now what is that code??)

this is a common problomb that commonly happens whin you putt a ssd in skirmish and start from 1 klick away

the funny thing is if you assighn unshilded fighters to escort the ssd and you are inside they will try to atack you and end up runing into the ssd and killing themselves

another way to do this is to use a mission editor so youre home ship is a star destroyer and when you go and tractor into the landing bay it does the same thing but it is much cooler

Has anyone noticed that when you return to a non-Mon-Cal ship, (ie when the hanger view is messed up), that sometimes the droids go spinning off into space?
Oh yeah, and why do ISDs go at ludicrous speeds when they turn round? Once I was in the hanger (not docked) of a ISD in a T/D, and it started to turn, so I accelarated to stay in the hanger, and the thing outran me so I ended going through the back of the ship and dying (only when I reached the outside of the skin?!?). It did not jump, it just turned, as it was still around when I respawned. It happens ever time I try to hide there.

This might be a daft question but:
Why would you want to hide when you are in a TIE Defender?

And if you think that ISDs go at ludicrous speeds when they are turning, try outrunning a turning SSD...that thing has better yaw/pitch/roll than an A-Wing...which incidentally, I was flying when an SSD side-swiped me http://www.xwingalliance.com/forums/smile.gif)

Wouldn't that be funny if capitail ships are highly manueverable and speedy and they can do evasive manuevers? By the way, i watch the film and I did went inside that Escort Carrier!

Interesting, I have had this problem too. It's just a opt and a map editing error.

Primarch, I hid cos about 2 dozen Top ace TIE/ex 1s were after my blood, and those things chew through shields like paper.
