Hello,
I'd like to rent a Jedi Academy dedicated server for my Clan but I've never been server admin before so I need some help.

First off, I need an euro server. I was thinking about buy from jolt but their prices are quite high even if, from what I know, their servers are very fast. Are there other good servers rental in europe (better if cheaper :o ) or is jolt the only way to go?

Second off, the server is going to be used mainly as FFA FF and I'd like to upload an admin mod. Could you suggest a good and secure mod for such a server?

Thanks for your time! :)

Try http://www.GameServers.net) or http://www.wireplay.co.uk/)

JA Plus Mod is by far the most popular mod http://japlus.fragism.com/index2.php)

Other choices are xmod2 http://xmod2.cat5camp.com)

and Jedi Academy Reloaded http://jamod.ryanmh.com/index.php)

Thanks for the links, I think I'll go with the GS solution :p

BTW, few months ago I set up a dedicated server using and old home computer of a friend of mine (and the sticky thread about how to configure servers helped us a lot :D ) but I've never been admin of a hosted server so now I'm quite confused.

For example, to upload mods and run them do I get access to a special file manger once I've made the payment or do they send me username and password and I'll access my server with a standard FTP connection? (i.e. CuteFTP)

Sorry if this may sound as a stupid question but as I mentioned before this is the first time I try to run a hosted ded server :o

You would be better off asking them.

When I used JediServers, they gave me an FTP address, login & password and I just entered the info into my FTP programs (Cuteftp and Filezilla).

Check with your provider.

PS: As far as Admin Mods go, Xmod2 is the best (and it's secure). ; )

Learn Rcon too (built in remote control feature of being an admin in Q3 engine games) it will help you a lot!
