Disclaimer: These settings are not perfect... they do not solve world hunger... they do not stop terrorism.... they will not make you more popular with members of the opposite sex...

These settings have been pretty well tested by Bladeworks staff and users [ http://www.bladeworks.net) ].

seta d_saberGhoul2Collision "0"
seta g_locationbaseddamage "0"
seta d_saberBoxTraceSize "2"
seta g_saberDamageScale ".45"

Setting that begin with d_ must be set from the config file. *note* The saberdamagescale setting of .45 is misleading.. Disabling ghoul2 has a side affect of greatly increasing average hit damage, a setting of .45 brings damage back to reasonable levels.

Enjoy

wow these settings are totally awsome, by far the best duel servers are the ones with @BWN at them, more skill and less spam, hurray Bladeworks!

Their FFA servers certainly have a lot less frags on them, IIRC.

Those sound like good duel settings, though personally I prefer quicker duels.

I set my g_saberdamagescale to "2" because I primarily play other game modes than duel, and it works well.

seta d_saberGhoul2Collision "0"

Intriguing... I used 1 (default?) and assumed that was supposed to make better collision, but I still ocassionally had people whine that they "hit me" and it didn't register or something.

Perhaps I should try the other one?

Another option you might try for duels is g_sabertracesaberfirst 1 (0 for non duels) which increases blocking.

Turning off location based damage like you did means that body shots, limb shots and head shots all do the same damage (as much as body shots did in the regular game).

With it on, headshots do the most damage, body shots less, and limb shots the least.

The boxtracesize I haven't messed with (it's set on whatever the default is). Is that related to blocking or attacking?
