Ok, I admit, I'm in my 40's and don't have much of "a life."

But I work 40+ hours, pay my taxes and vote on election day. I've not taken vacation time in over a year and start wednesday through the next weekend, I am off, just to play Jedi Academy! :D
I still have enough money to go to Spain which I want to do before 2005, but for now, with work being stressful, I'm looking forward to kicking back with nothing but Jedi Academy!

I've been a faithful fan since the first game, so needless to say, I am very, very excited.

Anyone else? And if you dont mind, what was your first time playing a Jedi Knight game?

I don't remember how old I was when I first played Dark Forces, it was just 'some game' to me, I didn't really care much for story lines back then, I was about 5 or 6, all I cared about was hitting the switch to activate the bridge, or trying so hard to jump onto that little platform...but now that I have played Jedi Outcast and I know that Dark Forces was what started it all I want to play it again. I doubt that you're 40, maybe late 20's or early 30's, you just don't act 40.

What exactly in what he said makes him not sound 40?

Because he is excited about a game he likes that is coming it in two days?

God forbid when I turn forty I show excitement for anything anymore!! Unless I take Viagra that is [/sarcasm]

Honestly, that is a silly comment. I am a regular on the World War 2 Online forums. You should see how most 40+ year olds act on there half the time! Especially when they get into discussing their real life guns LOL.

Here I am 29 and I didn't get into this series until way after Dark Forces II was released. I actually bought the game off someone for $5. Please forgive me, I was a consoler for many years before I became a PC junkie.

I'm a multiplayer, not much of a singleplayer, so yes I pay $50 for a game and really only play half of it. Castle Wolfenstein, I've had the game since it came out and I'm only half way through the catacombs. Medal of Honor: Allied Assult, I'm actually up to the sniper last stand part, but same as RTCW I've had it since the day it came out. And Jedi Outcast, don't ask.

So I hope to see all of you in the online arena.

Oh, and yes I am excited!

I'm 36 and I'm very excited for JA. I played Dark Forces two years after it came out and I bought JK & MotS and JO the days they came out. I loved JO and can't wait for JA. The Jedi Knight series are my favorite games. :awing:

Im 23 and I've been playing Dark Forces since the day after it came out. Not a week goes by that I don't play some Star Wars game. If I had a problem with this I'd probably join a 12 step program for Star Wars addicts...but I don't!

But I agree with Iblis - I ain't going to buy a game then pay to play it.

By my clock 22hours 27 mins left at least till midnight the 17th.

Ok, I wish some ladies would think I was ten years younger too. :D

Anyway, like I said, I'm definitely looking forward to taking time off and doing nothing but Jedi Academy.

I used Dark Lord Vader online and will stick with it, if you see me, say 'hi.'

Quite. I'm 19 and the original Jedi Knight was my first fps. For whatever reason, although there are some serious stinkers in the lot, Lucas Arts has put out enough quality games to make quite an impression, and is more responsible for my liking starwars than the movies, esp. that new rubbish. Hopefully there'll be a better villian than Desann though, since he was a bit dull.

Well jedi outcast was like my third computer game, after counter-strike and mohaa, and i bought it for 2 dollars in my country (ilegal copys, well its south america what can i say) and it was fun till i got to MP and it turned to incredibly fun, that was my first experience of playing a game in internet, (i played counter-strike in LAn with my friends).
So i played JO since october last year till february this year, i decided to break the cd so i would never play it again and just wait for JA, so then i was excited for JA, i played day of defeat all this year waiting for JA to come, now it is coming tomorrow and i canot really believe it.
So i am 17 and i am not really a fan of Star Wars.
I say "stick to a game and become the best in it", so i did with CS, JO and i am in Day of Defeat" :smirk2: :snipe1:

And you think all the people that post in this forum arent excited, They are wasting their time posting crap about a JA cause they want to know all about the game.
At least you all will get it this week, if i am lucky ill receive it on monday, it depends on how eficient are those fedex people.

:( sux because you all wil be a week ahead of me.

Wow. Ive never met a 40 year old into gaming ! Just because your a gaming fan doesn't mean you don't have 'a life'. We all have a life, and we are all different people, who in this instance have a similar interest, dare I say passion(!)

I considered myself one of the older crew and I'm 28 on the 18th of this month ! My fiancee is just coming to terms with the fact that I'm a product of the video game generation. My mates had the revolutionary Atari 2600 when I was very young(and when I first saw star wars !) As I got older I had my Commodore 64, My Amiga, but my gaming dreams came true when I got my first PC a few years ago, a P200. I bought the amazing Lucasarts Collection Vol 2, which had Rebel Assault 1/2, Tie Fighter and Dark Forces ! I have to admit I stuck it through DF mainly because it was a SW game, I wasnt much into FPS "Doom" style games, but the level where you get the Death Star Plans was like being part of Star Wars history, I loved it !

By the time DF2, JK came out I was hooked, I loved that game, and the FMV was the closest we had to a SW movie post ROTJ(as well as the Rebel Assault 2 stuff of course)

Jedi Outcast was a revelation, storyline aside, the control and use of the saber was the breakthrough the raven team made. I have only been playing the JA demo, but I love it, SP/MP I just cant wait !!!!!

I took 2 weeks off last year to see AOTC about 15 times in total ! I just love 'escaping' into the SW universe, be it through the movies, books or games.

But of course, when the movie ends, the DVD finishes, the book is closed or the PC is turned off, we all get back to life.....

To all older gaming and Star Wars fans, feel free to be as pleased as punch when you pop your JA disc into the PC for the first time, install it and then watch those magnificent words come up on the screen :

"a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away" !!!

MTFBWYA !!

Have a great day all !

I got DF at a Computer show like 8 years ago. It was FUN! From blasting stormtroopers to finding the Dark Trooper. I thoroghly enjoyed it. I got DF II about a year ago. Still haven't beat it (not enough time). Got JO not long after it came out, very fun! I can't believe that some people are dissing JA just from 2 LEVELS of the demo! Ya there are problems, but give me a game that comes off the release date without bugs...[Sigh] ok I'm done now ;) :atat: :c3po:

Patiently waiting till tomorrow...

Hey, I wasn't coming down on myself for being in my 40's and gaming lol! :) All you guys are consoling me like I'm about to kick it! I just mentioned that as a side fact, letting you guys know I've played a few games and still can't wait for tomorrow.

I had to work for 5 quick hours today and am now officially on VACATION. I'm getting ready for tomorrow, about to start a true geek fest in my apt, playing the demo (and Jk2) while watching LOTR EE, Episode I and II and of course, ordering pizza. :D

Can't wait to wake up tomorrow and really start this vacation.

What Im most excited about is the MP maps -- what will they give us this time?

Yeah Barcode, either of those would be AWESOME Mp maps.

The Executor would have me :D from ear to ear.

I'm hoping also for some cool power duel maps, like Geonosis, The pit room from Ep1 and Bespin. Then again, I guess I already have those maps, like most, for Jk2...

I think a good ole fashioned run down city from Earth would make for a good map, kind of like the PCGamer map from Rainbow Six...But bigger obviously... I want a setting similar to how a game like Warzone or something would be cool.. Kind of like a post WWIII city or something

Of course I am excited!

My first FPS was JK and I got it not long after my family got their first computer in 1997. I remember a sad time when my whole family was computer illiterate, but now I have surpassed that stage on a multitude of levels! meh <3 PC.

This game could be something wonderful. JK2 was great despite its quirks; I have a feeling JA will make up for its predecessor's mistakes with interest . . .

JdKNITE,

AWESOME post.

Well, Im taking a break from just having watched LOTR EE and TPM (I know some dont like TPM as much as the others, but those are two AWESOME flicks back to back, my one complaint --- LOTR EE is a BIT too long, just a bit, but I love it) to see how everyone on the boards is doing.

Of course, no matter what, I just cant stop thinking about where I will be at 9am tomorrow and what I will be doing ALL day (and night) long...

Ok, popping in Ep2 (and maybe, since I dont have to work tomorrow -- though Im still getting up 'early' lol, thankfully not 6am -- maybe Empire on VHS?)

I can't wait -- a NEW Jedi Knight game -- TOMORROW and I... dont have to work until a week from next Monday! Bwahahahahahaaa!

I'm 15 and YES I'm EXCITED as HELL!

Can't wait can't wait can't wait.

When you guys play MP would you use your forum name? If not would you please put your JA MP name into your forum sig? That would be great for identifying familiar faces and finally meeting in the JA world.

Hey, Leo, I DEFINITELY will be using the name DARK LORD VADER when I'm online. However (I play pretty much every night after work and afernoons east coast time, us, on Saturdays) I've run into THREE other Dark Lord Vader's, all on Jk2, and that's NOT counting all the "Darth Vader's" or "Vader's" etc I've run into over the years.

So.... if its after 6:30 eastern m-f (before 1am -- if Im good) or between 8 am and 5 pm Saturday eastern, it's likely me, but you may want to mention this board as a reference.

Seriously though... I'd LOVE to play Siege or MP whatever with people from the board here, I'm definitely loving this place.
