pod racing included at the start? or in an expansion?
what vehicles would be or should be able to be utilized.

i for one would like to beable to place bets on pod races...maybe actually be in a pod race, but that would include having to build a pod, fix it up with after market parts, etc...
would that extra economic system be too much? its like a miniature gran turismo within the game.
They're not going to have vehicles at release, and they said they're never going to have pod racing. I guess it would be too difficult to implement. That doesn't mean people can't make their own races...maybe through a canyon or something to make sure people don't cheat, or one of those "across the world" races; whoever gets to Mos Espa first wins.
That would be cool, when the space expansion comes out people having their own races- I always liked doing the naked gnome race in EQ. :D

if they ever have some sort of racing expansion...we'd have new professions: racer, gambler, loan shark, pit crew, etc...
or whoever is in the hut faction can just make these races by themseleves.
There's no more Hutt faction, to the best of my knowledge.
I heard The Hutts might be implemented into the game later. Also what are you doing with a speeder? A creature mount is the way to go. Thew if you plan on selling mounts I'll get one:p
I'd sign up for that bantha race right now! Especially the one where it is ok to use armed combat during the race, mmm....
No, there will be no ingame mechanics for podraces etc. That is official. However, there are ample opportunities after the vehicle/mount patch to arrange races. For fun, or for money. If you keep them on a regular basis on a specific place, you might get a permanent clientele, which with the player-made town patch could turn into a nefarious den of gambling and racing! Yay!
Mounts rule! I can't wait for that patch, its another cool thing about the game.
they also stated that putting pod racing in is a bit weird because there is already a game for that :D
Well one reason they don't have it is because of speed. In the movies swoop bikes go maybe 100 miles or so, in this game they have to go much slower so as not to create lag.

You can't. The biggest thing you can tame is a Rancor.

yeah but you must know that the only ones ever to tame a rancor were force witches of dathomir....... so :p

Well you won't be able to have a Kryat dragon because there suposed to be the most terrifing and darngous creature in the game. I mean how could a Kryat Dragon be dangerous if it doing hand stands and and balancing a ball on it's nose. :p

I think a space race would be awesome. I just hope they put dangers in space; ie. pirates, asteroids, black holes, etc. If they didn't it would be kind of boring.

You may not be able to pod race but what the heck................whats stopping you from taking a few swoop bikes to beggars cannon? i think i will organize some kind of race with swoop bikes and give the winner creds......how do you guys like that? but of course there will be an entry fee

I've heard contradicting info on this. Some sources say they are easily trained (that goes for those found on Dathomir though), other sources says they are not.
The one in Jabbas palace might have been aquired from Dathomir at a very early age. It wasn't really old when it died, and stood only around 5 meters tall. Free fullgrown Rancors can be much higher, around 8-10 meters tall. So, it would have been easier to train since they are more social than Rancors found on other planets. They hunt in packs for instance. ;)
This quality in the Dathomir Rancors might have something to do with the witches there.
I think that would be cool to have a swoop bike race.
I really hope we can at least watch podraces if not participate in them.
No Pod Races...Sorry to say. But like it was said before. I hope they put in the dangers of space.
