OK this is for everyone who may wonder what they should do in a round and what it may mean to the game.

I am going to tell you what each person did and what it did in the game.

Kvan is making an untrained sense motive check. Sence Kvan does not have any ranks in sense motive he starts with a +0 modifier. This skill is a wisdom skill and kvan gets a +1 for that so Kvan get a total of +1 on this check. This is a very hard thing to pass since a standed DC for sence motive is 20, but kvan did get a felling that she means the group no harm but can't tell for sure.

darthfergie used a hide check to blend into the crowed. The bar is full of people and fergie just seems to disapper as he get closer to the door. Since the woman is just looking at the table and no one person, fergie was able to sneak away with out her seeing him, (that made it possable for him to try to hide since you can't hide if someone is looking at you.) I don't know what fergie ranks in hide, but to hide in this crowed bar is not hard.

Thrawn uses a spot check to see if the woman has any weapons. This again is an untrained skill so he only gets no mod. Also since he is perparing his weapon he can not give his full action to this spot so he did not see any weapons. Like i said thrawn also perpared a weapon, This will make him ready for battle and if the woman does start shotting he can fight back during the surpise round. (this is the first round of combat, it only happens once during each fight. If your pc does not know the bad guys are there s/he is flat footed and can not attack during this round) Also Thrawn be careful what weapon you perpare. You are a jedi and you carry a blaster. Jedi nomaly attack with a lightsaber first and only attack if they can get out of the battle. I could have given you a darkside point for perparing your gun. But i woun't because we are just starting. But for future knowlege, if you perpair you gun to kill someone with out them knowing you will get a darkside point (same for anyone else jedi or not). Now thrawn if you would have said, that you fingered your charric, making sure it was on stun, then i would have no need to give you a darkside point.

Gamma732 is also tring to sence motive (gamma i can't find your stats right know so i can't say if you passed or not)

General Nilaar is also perparing his weapon, he will be able to fight if the woman starts shooting.

Now just to clear up the darkside point thing. I look at the actions of jedi a little closer then i do others (unless they have the force-sencitve feat.) I feel that if you can use the force you are more likly to here the darkside. That is way thrawn you most be careful with your blaster, it is not normal for jedi to shot first and ask questions later.

You should say what your chariter does because of the woman walking toward your table.

Look at what everyone else did.

well you grab your weapon, will you watch her closely and see if you can tell what she is doing? May be you have a skill or a feat you can try to use. The possablities are endless that is what makes the game so much fun.

It looks like the everyone would like to have her make the first move, so i would say try to think of something that matchs that.

What would you do if you were siting there.

then masta you would want to say something like...

"my right hand casuly brushes my right hip where my lightsaber hangs. Has she comes up to the table, I question her asking is there something we can do for you miss?"

Here you have said that you ready your lightsaber just incase but mainly you start talking to the woman has soon as she is next to the table.

One more thing, masta this is just the chat thread if you want to do something post it in the game thread. That is the one with out chat in frount of the name. ;)

Well now that she has stated her case...I'd be in a corner so I'd not be doing the talking but we could say "hmmm...can we have some time on this matter to think it over?" because we want to see who is after her. If it is some Pirate we go with her, but if it is some MAJOR GOVERMENTAL POWER then we turn her in:D

Fine Wriath! FINE! Aurawn breaks his charric over his knee and flies into a fit of "darkside" rage. :evil3: He removes his lightsaber, because that's the weapon he's "SUPPOSED" to use and slaughters everyone in the cantina! End of this story! The moral is "Watch out for the darkside better than Aurawn did!"

J/k, alright Wraith I'll be more careful next time. :D Remeber, I'm only a padawan! :D

I agree (what's you're RPG name again?). We could let her sit on the wall side of the booth for a bit. She looks and sounds pretty scared. . . If it turns out she's telling the truth, and she's a good guy, then that's fine, if not she goes.

D20, same as ya. We usually play during the Old Republic Era, but my character is adaptable for all eras, since he is a jawa and is exceptionally good at being unnoticable. (aside from his stinkiness of course, but that's a good thing!)

Hey i got you email and just sent you 2 (sorry i am changing my mind all the time.)

OK i see you have past to of the things i ask for (you do have a fully made pc, and the group doesn't seem to mind)

The only other consern i have is if you are a level 1 pc or not.

everyone else is level 1 and the game was writen for 8-10 1st level pc. If you are not level 1 or maybe level 2 you would be at a great advantage and may get board.

Most go to class now be back in 1 hour.

Wraith I'm gonna need to argue a point with you.
I don't think Thrawn (or anyone) should get a DS point just from being cautious of an unknown person approaching them. Granted a Saber would be more apropriate to use, but I think its HOW he uses it. If he tries to go straight for a head shot then, he should recieve a DS point, but what if he was gonna shoot something to make it fall on her or take her leg out? I think it all depends on what he does with it. :) But thats my PoV, your the GM though

OK now i am not giving a dsp to thrawn right now. All i wanted to point out is that is you perpare a weapon to kill you could be using the darkside.

Also i said i was a little more picky about force users than i am about any other class. Because they use the force more then other classes.

I really don't see why jedi don't carry blasters with stun settings. Stun would be the best thing you could use, you will disable the person, but that person will not die. And i was saying is that for a jedi, if you are going to use a blaster you should use it in most cases as a stun weapon not a kill weapon.

And just to make sure all is clear...

I will NOT be giving thrawn a dsp.

I can't answer officially for this game, but in the one I play with my friends you turn to the dark side. The only way you can keep from doing that is by doing light side stuff like saving someone or doing a heroic act.

Shouldn't you only gain a DSP by actually doing something? Pointing a gun at someone and actually doing it are two different things.

Take for example my characters latest actions. Right now he's still pointing his blaster at the woman and hinting that it might be more profitable to turn her over to her pursuers. If it turns out she's the "good guy", and the people chasing her are really bad people, then actually doing it would likely gain Voushh a darkside point. But right now he doesn't really know what's going on, and even if he did it might simply be a bargaining point. Until he actually turns her over to her enemies, I don't think he would get a DSP.

Besides didn't Luke use a blaster for two movies? I'm not sure what the difference is between cutting someone in two and shooting them, but either one is deadly;)

I guess I'm just saying that I wouldn't think that just being on his guard (especially in a place like Tatooine) would get even a Jedi a DSP. But that's just my opinion, the Gamemaster is always right after all. And the Jedi of the Rise of the Empire era were different, so I could see where he might get a DSP. It's a really grey area... maybe he should get a Grey Side Point;)

I agree, he needs to commit the evil act to get a DSP.
Wriath how much are you gonna tell them about the Darkside? Just the DSP system? I would tell you guys now but I'm not sure how much wraith wants you to know. Sometimes its better if you don't know some of the gaming mechanics :)

I don't know...

It is not something that is important at the moment...

I think maybe later, we have a lot of new people right now and i don't want to give out info that is not needed with this many people who are just trying to learn the main part of the game.

OK people i just wanted to explain for for the rules to you.

masta used his Empathy skill to try and feel the woman's emotions. This is a cross check against the woman's will saving throw. As you can tell the throw was sucessful. All force skills and feats cost the user something. In this case empathy cost te user 1 vitality point. So masta untill you rest your vp is now at 9

Also for everyone...

Most of the time i don't tell players this but since I have mostly a new crew, i will tell you. Sometimes i use a degress of success when checks are made. You won't ever learn less then you should with this system, but you may learn things you weren't trying to do. Or in some cases you may fell/hear/sence something but may not be able to conferm that.

Our first battle...

This is how battles will work....

rpg's are turn based so to keep that alive this is what i will do. At the start of every battle i will post a list of everyone in the battle. this is the order of which you attack. You should not post untill everyone on the list has posted.

So what you do in battle. Pick a weapon yo wish to fight with. And a person you wish to use it on. Discibe what you will do up to the point of if you get a hit or not and i will fill inthe rest. There are other things you can do, like use feats or move the get a clear shot. If you think you have something like that you would reather use, but don't know if you can, post it here and i will tell you if that would work.

So kvan it looks like you are up first
