I'm new at these boards but I was just wondering if jedi are serius quit people then how the heck is a gungan jedi possible
It IS possible. If they got Midichlorians, they can be Jedi, only the Vong van't be Jedi.
Not all gungans act crazy like jar-jar. BTW they could learn how to be calm and at peace!!! :D
Clumsy Jedi..
hmmm... nice prospect.
In any case it seems that the gungan's race jedi's and the wookie's race jedi's will be the weaker than the other race,s Jedi.
(Check out the new preview thread by blue Myrr..(something)
Not all gungans are clumsy... remember Tarpals
I dont see how the gungans and the wookies would have weaker jedi. If they have lots of midiclorians they can be powerful too.
I think that all the jedi will be human, no matter what race you play
hope not, the game is so real now, that would lessen realism

But not all jedi are human
If they had a number of different races as jedi and when you access them you get a random race that would be cool.
ehm, did someone just say 'realism' ?
midichlorians
gungans
jedi
**ponders** then ROTFL !
The Jedi Counsil could send some Jedi to help them out ...
It was a saying, according to all the fantasy, it made sense.
hee, nog een Hollander.
(translation for possible offended forummers: 'Hey, another Dutch guy !')
2 things:
1. If all force users were human, it would be dumb.
2. You wouldn't need jedi, just force users. Jedi are just force users that follow that code. The Gungans and Wookies could just have force users.
Every races Jedi will probbly be stronger than others in some aspects like he wookie ones would be better fighters and Human Jedi would be more mentaly with the force
Lowbacca was a Wookie jedi, and she seemed just fine. And yes, it is true that some races will be better than others in certain aspects.
that's calling balance instead of boredom.
I strongly doubt that they'll give any civ a Jedi/Force advantage because of their species. Even though it's not exactly true that all races have the same midichlorian potential, it would come off as "unfair" to discriminate here, they probably believe.:nien: :evanpiel:
Wouldn't then, it also seem unfair to give a civ better troops, or worse mechs, because of their species?
no. it's not about making a civ as 'realistiscally strong as possible to the movies', but about balancing a game. period. you have the civ-graphics and in general they have traits that show you a bit how they connect to the movies, but i guess that's as far as it goes.
for instance, the Trade Federation only had help from 1 Sith Lord and 1 apprentice. not from an army of Dark Jedi.
Yeah, it wouldn't be fun to only have only one jedi at a time, and teh rebels would be like that too, they only had luke. The empire had only Vader, and the naboo only had Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, and the gungans had the same. The Wookies only had Lowbacca, but she appears later than these games would take place. oh well.
Isn't lowbacca male?
I don't think so, but maybe....
Lowbacca Was Chewbacca's Nephew So this really points to the fact that Lowbacca Was Male:mad:
Oh, ok. I never knew that.
i think it's in the star wars droids book i thing under some interpreter thing
I don't have that book, so.....
anyways. that's my point. it's like that with every single group or organisation in Star Wars, Tie guy. For Star Wars Galaxies, you can play a Zabrak (Maul-species). Now how do they develop his background ? they think it up. simple.
like you can think up a complete Bespin-civ.
hehehe. can you tell i'm plugging an idea ? :p
Who would they fight, the Imperials? When the imperials showed they instantly defeated the Bespinians :D, they put up no fight at all. They have no story. I'm sure if i thought long enough i could think of enough units, but i could probably never think of a story that works.
sure you could. think about it. setting up a mine-colony is all the background for a story you need.
imps would want to invade you if you supplied to the rebels.
In the Imp campain, the bonus mission is to go back to Bespin and destroy cloud city for Lando's betrayal :( Poor bespinians!
My question concerning Jedi in the game is what powers and special abilities will they have? will Jedi's abilities differ based on Civ. An example would be an Emperial Jedi(presumably Sith) could have force choke or force lightning, but a Rebellion's Jedi may have force push and force speed etc.
In the Mr Fixit review he mentioned Stealth as a Jedi skill, is that it for special skills. I know they are already powerful as far as HP and melee attack strength, but I would gladly give up some HP(so they don't become unbalanced) to see some really cool Jedi abilities on the battlefield!
I think a good way to balance them is to make them cost a lot and take an extremly long time to build since they have to go through training. That just makes sense to me.
Jedi really do need force powers other than stealth
I'm sure they will, but another one is the power to convert enemies to your cause.
cloud city is going to be in the game, found out through pc gamer, so i'm wondering if lando calrissian is going to be there?
let me think about this jedi thing. they should have more powers, and i think they will other than stealth, but i'll think about this and reply back...

Bringing Up-front, Take your time Lord Jay, just making it visible.
Besides I have 3 months yet ;) Then I'll already know! :D
destroy Cloud City ? not exactly the type of thing i had in mind, but it will do..
Dropped real quick, what is this topic made of lead?
Anyways, still waiting for some inside info on the Jedi's arsenal of force abilities, Lord Jay
One more time! Lord Jay, I know your here....show yourself!
Answer my question please, if you can! ;)
Havoc...not much is known about the actual upgrades of Jedi, but you can bet they will resemble Monks from AOK a bit.
...if you know how those worked..
they'll be quite different from monks, actually, b/c monks had no melee abilities in AoK. i'm still thinking...........

That's fine, at least I know you haven't forgot....I will wait patiently.....for at least another day ;)
yeah, i guess that's the main difference. they are like monks, but also serve as an elite unit..
they already sound like the bad-asses from the game !!
Yes, they do. I believe (not neccessarily fact) that the upgrading of jedi will be the powers they gain, and that these power will be something like this:
Speed
Stealth
Coversion and
some force-based, long range attack.
Of course, it would be different for the Sith.
i don't think it would be different, except that the Sith would have some kind of Force-choke attack..
That's different isn't it? :D
Plus, they may have like choke instead of speed and then lightning as their long range attack.
you're right !
lightning !
how could i forget..
but that would definitely be a short-range attack, like the Throwing Axeman from AOK.
i wonder what jedi-tech would be a real advantage..
