Heres a pic of anakins costume with light on it. Kind of shows what color the suit really is, also a nice view of his boots. Here it is, uploaded just for you ;P!

Yet another screenie - got some work done on the model's structure - it's proportioned a little bit better now...

more to come...

Thats fantastic work! That model is coming along extremely nicely, the resemblance is uncanny!:)
Tercero, would it be possible if you posted some side shots and back shots, so we can see what that model looks like from other angles? thanks:)
Keep up the good work!
Inspirational. Fantastic work. It gets better with each picture.
Tercero, would it be possible if you posted some side shots and back shots, so we can see what that model looks like from other angles?
I agree.
edit: His face looks a little long. The curve of his jaw should be closer to his ear, and his ears are slightly smaller(refer to the pics). Also his thighs are yet skinnier.
Wow! That latest pick is absolutely great! The face looks perfect... Especially the mouth, nose and chin area.
Keo,
Maggie has made it expressly said that she does not want direct links to her site, please edit your post and resepct her rerquest, else we will have no more padawans guide :)
Tercero,
The Tabbards are the strips of fabric over teh shoulders. Anakin has leather ones, and undeneath has cloth ones too.
By popular request, here is a pic with shots at different angles
Hope you have a good screen resolution (think 1280x1024)

Hope this helps!

Looks like the proportions of his head are off a bit. Too much forehead and maybe not enough jaw. Actually if you move the nose and mouth up and make the forehead smaller it might help.
the model and skin looks great...one small segestion though...i think the hair needs more texture than that....but thats just what i think
well, he said it's not skinned yet, just coloured so he can see what is where. so expect the hair to look better when the model gets skinned!
Oh, and the model looks really great, nice work!!!
Looks like the proportions of his head are off a bit.
The nose is a bit to long. As you shorten his nose, move up the chin and jaw.
edit: His thighs also are too wide all around.
Tercero,
Did you tighten the sleaves?

Yea I think he did! :( I prefered them baggy!! My main critisism right now fo the model itself is that the head appears to be sitting a little too far forward on the neck. It kind of gives him a thuggish neanderthal appearence... The body itself looks great though!! :D
As most of the critisism seems too be aimed at the head area maybe you could post a large pic of the head shown at different angles? Trying to constructively critisise the models head is hard when viewing those pics with a 1600x1200 desktop!
Also I am more than willing to host those pics for you on my own FTP if you want to send them to me!! :D You can reach me at crashakid@hotmail.com by email/MSN or you can find me in my IRC channel: - irc.gamesnet.net #forumthon

Thanks for the extra angles -Tercero-. :) The model looks fantastic.
You've really captured something about his face, so be careful adjusting it. I think his nose is a little too long. The bottom of his nose is too far away from his eyes, just by a bit.
The leather tabards might be a little too thin. Maybe make them a little wider.
And nice pic Tap[RR]! That's the same display I saw in person at The Brooklin Museum. (unfortunately my camera's batteries ran out before I got to him... 25+ pics of the Yoda puppet will do that ;) )
And yes... Anakin's leather tabards are brown. Honestly, the color they are on the model is near perfect if used with the proper shader. Very, very nice looking job.
If you need help getting him in-game, I know a lot of experts like to see a flat shade render of your model. (I think that's the right term; no colors, just the unsmoothed mesh so they can see that the poly's are set up nicely and planned out properly)
Also, about sound packs, I seem to be making a bit of a living on making sound packs for other modellers and skinners, but I do not have any sounds for Anakin from AOTC. The only ones I've found on the internet have been from the TV trailer and they have way too much music on them. I would be glad to do his sound pack though, if I had a good collection for him. And yeah I spend a long time working on them too, but at least I can give back to you guys in some way :).

I've done a bit more work on the model - mainly on the face again... As for his sleeves, I did tighten them up a bit. I was finding that in 90% of the screenshots I have of him, they were a little tighter than I had them. I also think that he'll animate better with them a little tighter, and it'll make it a bit easier if I ever decide to add a cloak (I wouldn't hold my breath on that one, though... that one would be extremely difficult to pull off convincingly.)
Nomad - I'd be more than happy to have you work on sound packs, but I've unfourtunately been too busy to find any clean rips either. Worst comes to worst, we could always release a sound update after the DVD comes out - that is if the model is even finished by that point. As far as cleaning up sounds, I do have some pretty good software on my computer - I just the lack of time to do it...
I've redone the skin on the face a bit - mainly around the eyes and eyebrows, and tweaked the nose and eyes a bit more. It's really starting to shape up now... soon it'll look like the real thing.
Thanks for all your input, please keep it coming - it's what will make this model be the best that it can be.
And now for the screenies!

Copying and pasting the link is not working now for some reason....
Its working for me... try putting ur mouse on the link the drag it to the address bar....
I get this message....

I tried dragging it too.
Thats weird... it worked for me the first time i tried but now it says that same thing, WTF?
Works for fine me, looking damn good too. :)
In the extreme close-up the nose sticks out too much and is a little pointed at the end. Is there a way to sort of round that out?
Ok, it works now. I suggest going to padawansguide.com, and looking for Anakins close up headshots. From observing your close up shots against his headshots on the aforementioned site, I see that his forehead is too big(long), his eyes are too big(wide and round), the bridge of his nose is too long his nostrils are too wide(it also sticks out alot from the side), and his mouth is too wide. If you visit that site(pic 10/6/00 of the headshots), you'll see what I mean. If I could direct link the picture, I would.
BTW: His legs look better now
edit: Also, his chin needs to be more round.

Ive just composed this pic out of both your model and a pic i found...
http://www.mathus.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/anakin_2.jpg)
As you can see the main thing that stands out is that the models nose is too big! While its length is fine it sticks out too far and is also a little too wide!
Now onto the minor points. If you look at your models hair you can see that the front of it doesnt stick out quite far enough and his forhead is a little oversized. The models Jaw is also too straight and defined compared to Haydens. The eyebrows need lowering slightly to give hime a more brooding look and the ears need enlarging slightly!
Tercero at your geocities file manager just rename the pics to
.txt instead of .jpg and then the link will work. :D
Check out this bust of Anakin. This picture is the best for modelers because you don't have all the colour distractions and you can just concentrate on the contours of the face.
Anakin Bust (
http://www.padawansguide.com/anakin/costume/jedi/hayden_bust.jpg)
Um, no offense, but you need the .jpg at the end to define what file you are wanting to look at. computers and the internet are picky like that. say like if there was anakin7.jpg AND anakin7.txt, which one would be the one a person would be needing to view, etc.
But keep up the good work, only thing I noticed was the nose looked a little pointed on the side, unless its just the angle...
**EDIT** boba, I wasn't referring to you, It just happened to come out with JPG and TXT, I didn't even see your post until you said that...I was referring to JackNeilNC, because he said just do to the anakin7 without a JPG extension..
 Sorry man!
Try this.

Copy then paste it.
Now try this. Dont copy just click.

See it works plus makes the picture clearer.
Okies, I tweaked the face a bit more from your feedback - thought I'd post another screenie to see what people think!

Very Very nice, Just wish some one knew how to do facial Anamation, so all the awsome models would work for singleplayer cut-vids.
The model is really looking great tercero, very nicely done.
I kind of took a pic from a guy earlier and reworked just the pictures themselves, and got this. too bad the term photo-realistic doesn't naturally apply.
http://projectduality.fragland.net/photo_anakin.jpg)
Looks great but it looks like it have hmm... LOTS of polygons...
How much ???
-------------------------
LODs ??
The current polycount is at 3288. I've been trying to do some optimitation, but it seems that every time I take a poly out, I have to add another in. As far as LOD's the will almost be a necessity, but I haven't really done them to date, so I need to figure out what I'm doing there first.

I'm not sure if this because there's no detail or whatever, but the ears look a little big now. Maybe if you could finish skinning the ear we can see what everything looks like.
Btw, great job on the hair and braid!
Yeeeesss. You are getting ever closer to anakin. Remember the picture I referred you to in my last post? Check that pic out again. All I would suggest now are minor tweaks. Like try making his face overall less wide(leaving the hair where it is, moving in the temples and cheeks), his lips a TAD bit thinner (from top to bottom, not in width), his nose a TAD bit less wide, and the bridge of his nose a little bit less long. Minor tweaks. Please refer to the pic on padawansguide.com, it will help. After that, it seems that the face will be done. This model is looking superb thusfar. And Andy, that hair is looking real nice.
edit: You might want to refer to headshots 10/1/00 and 7/27/01 on Padawansguide.com for his side profile.
hey I know what it is thats making it look weird. His cheek is better now, just not smoothly done right now. Its his chin and Jaw line thats are weird. his chin is smaller and more pointed and his jaw should come up to his ear a bit shorter and should be a bit higher if you know what I mean - right now his Jaw looks too long and low (hes not that old yet). Hope this helps.
Cracking modeling btw man, keep it up.
Tercero, you ought to think about using Andy's rendition of Anakin's head.
All I did was blur the jaw/cheekline, and maybe the chin a little, and simply used the rubber stamp tool in photoshop to give the modle actual anakin hair from a pic posted earlier. That's all I did, nothing big... And maybe use actual hair for the braid as well, but thats literally it...
I thought his hair was more brownish....
Right now, I think hes PERFECT...
it looks fantastic. I haven't seen the most recent pic cuz of that ghetto bandwith/data transfer crap, but from the others, i have same crit as most other people. The face looks fantastc, and the top of the nose looks great, but it kind of curves out a bit to much and ends in a wierd point. And at the moment the hair looks a big to fro'ie... it will probably looks good with the skin though. So u might want to try just throwing some textures on there and see what it looks like.
http://www.mathus.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/anakin_2.jpg)
This is the pic I was referring to that i got the photo hair of anakin. Also, keep up the good work tercero. You are almost there. :)
I soooo excited
I just can't it
I'm about to lose control and I think I like it!
Okay nevermind about the hair then. The face resemblance to the actor is A M A Z I N G. Have you gotten it in game yet?
I'm still pretty far off from getting him in game - I have no experience with 3DS, so if I wind up doing it myself, I'm gonna have to get over a learning curve. Still, I might decide to do it
myself if noone comes forward to help me get him animated. I figure the model could take anywhere between one or two more months to get in-game, I know it's a long estimate, but I work a LOT... I see that people are pretty eager to play it, though, so I might release a rough beta when I do get it working.
Next thing I'm skinning will probably be hair once I'm done with the face - I'm going to try to get it to look somewhat like the hair in the pic that Andy posted - I really like the look of it there. I might make it a bit lighter and sharper though - only time will tell...
As far as future projects, Episode I and II Obi-Wan's are being considered, as well as Mace Windu, or, if I can hack the code, a gameplay mod that improves on saber combat a bit. If people want I'll post some changes I'm thinking about making in the coding or general editing forums. And as always, I'll probably still be updating my Tercero-Sabers to make them look even better. The next pack that I'm releasing will contain more Episode II-ish sabers and possibly new sounds.
Thanks for putting up my pics Matt, I'll edit my old posts accordingly. Also, I need to get in touch with you about how I can quickly post things up on your server so I can release wip shots faster.
And now for the newest screenie!

how do you fix that .txt thing so i wont get taht dumb geocities thing?
I keep getting the Geocites message page saying that you've run out of space.
Looking good, but I don't see too much difference from the last pics.
edit: The chin is better though.
