Okay right now I have a GeForce2 MX 200... which is sh*t. Plain and simple. Now I want to upgrade, but we don't have the money to get a GeForce 4 Ti, or the new Radeon card 9700 Pro (which is simply amazing.)

Now I am either thinking about a GeForce3 Ti, but I am not sure which one. I think the 500 has 64mb of ram, but the 200 has 128. Which one is better?

But I can get a Radeon 8500 LE Pro (lil crappier than 8500) pretty cheap, and was wondering if you guys think its worth it. Or will it get outdated soon. I was thinking on waiting until the NV30 came out, so hopefully GF4 Ti's prices would drop.

What do you think? What should I buy? I need some help.

thanks.

i got a GeForce 4 MX 440 128mb, i dont think they're that expensive and it does everything i need it to do. perhaps that would be a good option.

Check out the Radeon 9000 at www.dealsdirect.com)
They're a reputable store so don't be worried about buying online from them.

With those funds you could get a geforce 3 ti or even a geforce 4 mx if you wanted.

when i went looking for vid cards a few months ago, my plan was to do something similar to what you did but i ended up getting a geforce 4 4400 ti. at the time it was $400 canadian, now you could probably get one for $340 if you shop around

i've heard geforce 4 mx isn't as good as gf3 ti... because it was based of geforce 2 technology... thats why its helly cheap.

Can anyone confirm this?

Stay away from mx at all costs.

Well..... unless you'd have to cut your hand off or something. Then I suppose it'd be ok.

how do u find the mx? its a geforce 4 right?

how does it work with certain games... like jkii for example?

oh wait I finally got what rhett was saying lol... and it looks like neither of us got it jan... I think he meant don't get mx unless its a choice between mx, or gettin your hand cut off. And for some reason you seem to have an mx AND your hand cut off?

but who cares hes just some cRaZy small green token dude. :D

No, I got my hand chopped off anyway. :D

But seriously, it's a much improvement from what i used to have, and it came with the comp so. I now can play Medal of Honor: Allied Assault with max grafix settings, something I wasn't able to do before, so I'm pleased at the moment. JKII works fine too, I'm replaying it now and the movie cutscenes work perfectly this time. :)

But I am gonna replace it eventually, along with my sound card. :D
