I haven't been on the GFN for a long time. the last i recall was when the Grim Fandango Novel by Charles Frederick was just complete. But what happened to it afterwards. I can find it for downloads around the Network but did it get published or anything?

Nothing much happened to the novel since being completed. Although there have been rumors of it being seen picking up strange essays in bars.

It's still available on Glottis' Garage (http://glottis.grimfandango2.com/index2.shtml). It's also available on GFN (http://www.grimfandango2.com/fiction.php) along with some GF-related short stories. And one shouldn't overlook LucasArts Fiction (http://lucasfic.mixnmojo.com/).

There's also an original Land of the Dead novel in the works although progress has been very slow lately.

Just don't hold your breath. Even Guybrush Threepwood can't hold it long enough. ;)
