I often wander around and play other games here and there, but somehow always return to Quake deathmatch as a fundamental playing style.
Does anyone else play the Quake 3 DM (FFA) still?
Its pretty sad but Ive only played up to Quake II...:p
You should give Quake 3 a shot, you may like it.
It's basically JK 2 without the force and lightsabers - but the weapons are much more intense .. in my opinion. :)

Haha.. well with Quake 3 there are some really great mods out and OSP is amazing - it's an extension of Quake 3 with beautiful maps.

I used to play in there a lot; it was a crazy server, always a ton of people running around in there. It got pretty hectic but it was a fun place to play.
I still play on the "Muppety" Q3DM server now and then.

You really do get your money's worth with an investment in Quake 3.
Plus a new patch is coming out with built-in Punkbuster, to stop bots and cheats.
I play Quake a lot. I like 2 better than 3. But, I still play 3 though.
Yeah i Quake out every once in awhile, but when i do its Quake2 not Quake3, for some reason i find it more fun.
Well I just got back into Q3 since my bandwidth upgrade - it was only the upload from 1.5/128 to 1.5/384 but I guess that makes a big difference online.

I'm holding out for the new Doom myself. I had a nasty little addiction to that game, and still play Final Doom from time to time. That was also one of the first few games I had for play station, although I enjoy the PC version much better. That game was made for a mouse and keyboard.
I'm iffy on the new Doom 3.
It's going to be peer to peer.

True that will put a damper on the old gameplay that most of us are used too.
Still there is something very Sam Raimi to me about shoving a chainsaw into the face of weird looking alien creatures.

as for quake 3 i havent played in a long time. im just starting to play return to castle wolfenstien again.
I never liked Quake 3, I cant stand the weapons in it, but I love almost every game based on the quake 3 engine - wierd.
Soldier of Fortune 2 absolutely rocks, MoHaa is quite good if somewhat slow due to the so-called realism. All I want is a game that plays liek SoF2 but has loads and loads of different guns to choose from.:D
