Combat and Movement???

Two questions:

1. Does anybody know how combat will work in this game?

Will it be like JK2 and you have to aim and click (or, with the saber, move all over for different attacks)?
Or will it be like Diablo2 and Dungeon Siege, and you just click on the enemy and you start attacking?

2. How will movement work?

Again, will it be like JK2, and you use WASD to move, and the mouse to look around, or will it be like Diablo2 and Dungeon Siege, where you point and click, and then you move?

point and click, but you trigger special moves yourself...

movement: I expect both to be possible...

Sorry. I didn't quite understand the "point and click" part, since both methods basically use point and click.

Do you mean like Diablo2, or like JK2?

NWN, or Diablo point and click, but you trigger special stuff in between....

Ah. I see. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I personally prefer games more like JK2, but after playing Dungeon Siege, I got back into the RPG genre. So hopefully KotOR will turn out to be another great RPG style game.

So will we be able to use WASD or not?

I havn't played BG or NWN so I don't know how they work or if they are still fun without WASD.

in NWN, you can run around with wasd, but mouse is much smoother...

but I think they'll have to have that kind of movement on the xbox anyways...

wasd is useful in NWN to get out of walls sometimes. but beyond that it is preatty much useless. *shudder* having to manually control you character through the whole game, Reminds me of MI4 ugh.

I played Diablo 2 for about two hours when I first got it. I played it about once or twice after for about ten minutes. It just didn't grab me.

Well, if it DOES turn out to be quite similar to Dungeon Siege, I think that once I finish my Resident Evil Siegelet (if I ever get the tools I need to even START it), I'll just go ahead and make my own version of KoTOR for DS.... that is, if I have any success with my RE siegelet. If not, I'll either get better, or I'll leave the sieging to someone with more experience.

Well, I'm not entirely sure I'm going to go through with it. First I've gotta download all the tools (but I can't do that right away since I'm running on a 28.8 kbs modem, so it'll take forever), then I've gotta master the Siege Editor and learn how to model and use Skrit.
Of course, there's a lot of tutorials out there for all of this, so it shouldn't be TOO hard.
