elaboration: Yes...you can...

hehe...no really, we know that players will be able to place bounties, or hire transport so that in and of itself would be a "yes" to that question.

However with this style game environment, the possibilities are endless. Every item purchased supports the work of a manufactor or adventuror who obtained it.

But to be technical and address the word "system".

It would be an easy task for the game to have a "notice board" atached to various public places within the towns so that those requesting a specific task can leave for passerbys to take note of.

But however they plan on relaying bounty information will be the "system" you speak of. How this will apply for other jobs is still a mystery to me.

Dont mind my spelling or grammer, Im tired...

You will hear the Dev's talk about the "Mission System". It includes both NPCs giving players missions as well as missions set up by other players.

There was a whole smiel about it in one of the recent dev chats. They said there are three or four basic mission types currently in-game, but I can't recall them... Let me go see if I can find them.

Ah, here we go:

Lordlblis asks: How will the creation of player-generated missions work? What possibilities are there?

Holocron says: There's only a few types: delivery, retrieval, destroy, kill, and we've kicked around escort and a few others...
Holocron says: Setting them up is pretty simple-you click "new mission" in your datapad, and you drag in token into the wizard.
Holocron says: You drag in what to get/deliver/kill, where it is, and select by when and what filters there are on who is allowed to take the mission
Holocron says: You set what bond is required, and that's about it...
Holocron says: There's quite a lot of combination possible there because there are so many variables...

seems to be quite bloody, half of the missions that were listed involved killing. It's probably just me, but I don't see the great ;posible combinations' that can be made with the system, only see missions to make things go boom or to send/recive things. no contracting the disign of things through the system :(.

well i dont think that would be classified as a mission, isn't that something you do yourself?..more of a thing to do ;)...mission are for ppl you hire to do...i'd think like errand/bounty hunter...are msissions..

Yes.

Scenario:
You have - as a weapons designer - just finished designing an improvement or a totally new weapon.

Now, your partner - believe it or not - is situated on the other side of the planet (not litterarly, but you get my point) or even worse: Another planet.

So you make a mission for someone to carry out - in this case, deliever the schematics of the new or improved weapon to the Weapons Manufacturer. :)

limited $$ will prevent that...u can't keep placin bounties if you don't have the money to pay the hunters...also, i believe that the whole bounty system works quite diff. from that...i read that bounties are placed on characters for not completing player assigned jobs, and they give the job assigner a bond, and if they don't fallow through, than the bond becomes the bounty...sum1 correct me if i'm wrong

i know that you can hire npc's to do work & whatnot for you, so i don't see why it would be that much different from having them join you on ur mission...like if ur a smuggler, u could hire an NPC body gaurd or sumthin of the sort while on the mission

That's an interesting question D@rth. We have not been told anything about the abilit to hire npc mercinaries or anything like that. We know that you can own pets or droids that you could take with you to use. If you are high enough in rank in the Empire you may also be able to order stormtroopers to accompany you on certain missions. On the whole though I think ewok hunter is right, getting live players to help you will probably be the best way to go.

something about how they were trying to limit the NPC involment by forcing everything to be developed made and sold by PCs...

But if this who thing is going to be revolved around pc's then how do you make a hunt legal by law in the game. I mean if you hire someone to go kill another playerhow does the game know your hireing them or if there just doing it. Im not sure if this is coming out right but if you r hired to kill a pc and you do it wont you accout go under arrest or is there stages you have to go through befor you can declar a bounty.

I'm not quite sure I compleatly understand, but you proably have to accept the job before the game lets you hunt the person. from what I gather, as soon as you accept a bounty your target is informed and is always considered hostile or something

I saying do you have to go through something special befor a bounty is known by the game like i cant go up to you and say i want you to kill so and so for me and then you say yes thats not really known is it.

the mission system will probably go through a central data base and you will only be able to choose from a limited number of 'gigs'
