I'm stuck on this one too. The rebel troops are inadequate to take on the AT-STs and AT-PTs that attack. I tried running, but it's been impossible for me to get away. Also, I tried attack the Imperials at the gap in the mountains near the Adobe, but failed miserably. Another strategy I tried was taking control of the Imperial A-V turret nearby, hoping that it might impart enough damage on the passing Imperial convoy, but that didn't work too well either.

I had some trouble with this one too- what I finally wound up doing was buying as many Heavy Troopers as I could (they have anti-armor guns and rockin' grenades) and coming in behind the imperials. (It should be noted that I was unable to rescue the guerrila leader at all with this stategy- and not for lack of trying.) Then, when I got to the first turret, I took it over and waited for the guard crew escorting Tulon to pass me directly to the south. I was then able to use the turret to suppress fire from the other turret (they'll just shoot at each other until one dies, and if you blast the other with a grenade or short burst of fire from your troops you'll be able to assure the outcome) while my hvy troops took out the -ST's and -PT's. Use your regular troops to finish off the stormies and then use them to guard (follow) Tulon to the TR-MB. As soon as Tulon is inside, move the TR-MB DIRECTLY to the evac area. You will encounter a few walkers, but they will only be able to squeeze of a few shots before you get there. Once you do, they will freeze and the mission will be over. One last tip- make sure you recruit ALL the guerrilas you see (if you don't get close enough, they will remain neutral and out of your control) and group them with your regular troops. Only invest in heavy troops unless your reg. troop force dwindles to under about 6-8, and try to have at least 10-12 hvy troops by the time you finish ambushing the guard force- you'll need that or maybe more to hold the waves of Imperials coming from the southeast off of your TR-MB. Oh, and don't worry AT ALL about hover transports- they just got in my way... Hope it helps.

I also had a very hard time with this one. I found a trick that worked (after a couple of tries) The TR-MB can run over tropers and can turn the prisoners to the Rebel side, so instead of worring about troops I sent in the TR-MB, ran over the troops, got the prisoners inside and made a mad dash for the lift off area. I took alot of damage but I made it!

wow... looks like I solved this one a lot different than others. I used my troops to rescue the political guy first. I put my troops inside the transports and took over the imperial base with the 6 (or so) turrents on the top east side of the map. After taking over base and turrents... it was simple to blow away the At-st, At-pt guard of Tulon's and get him free. Then I just held the spot as many other At-st's came. Once things were quiet I went all the way to the evact point and only encountered one At-st along the way.

How do you get the base *and* the turrets?
I got the base, but there were too many stormies outside fighting in and the turrets were still under Imperial control.
