Anybody tell me where the Imperial Commander that needs to be rescued is on the map????

He crashlands at to the eastern edge of the map, after one or more of your objectives have been completed - sorry, I don't remember exactly what triggers the event but I do know that it doesn't happen right away.
After that you have to get him to the evacuation zone at the southern edge of the map.
