does ne1 know of a gif animator that can take apart animated gifs into their seperate frames ...

like say ... divine spirits flag avatar .... making it all black and white (just to be different) and then putting it back together

with his permission of course (take this as asking divine please reply) :)

MS GIF Animator does that (it's freeware, but hard to get hold of - M$ have 'incorporated' it into another software package so you have to buy a load of other stuff to get it) - nothing fancy, but it does its job well, and has all the standard options (frame delay, undraw, trailing comment, etc.).

I found a copy a few days ago, but I've lost the URL :(

... I'll upload it to my webspace and give you the link if you want it :)

Paintshop Pro(animation shop). I think that'll do the trick.

The delay between the frames is one third less than in Divine's - I did that inadvertantly at first, but decided it looked a bit better so I left it... I'll change it if you want :)

It's actually bigger than the full colour one - but only because I was a bit lazy, and didn't optimise it :D

It still loads faster than Divine's for me, though... Weird..

i like it .... but if the frame delay is a 1/3 less surely it should take less time to loop

but it takes about the same time now

unless u put more frames in to fill gaps

Microsoft GIF Animator :)

I found it nearly impossible to get hold of when I last tried, though (it took me several hours of Google-trawling a few days ago to find it), so check your PMs for a link to it on my webspace (I forgot the original URL  :D)

I was wondering when the first tech help question would arrive :D

You'll have to select and copy the frame and paste it into an image editor, do whatever you want with it, then save it as a GIF. Do that with all of them, and then open MS GIF Anim. and open the last frame first (I have no idea why, but it works backwards - you have to insert them in reverse order, but it runs from top to bottom, so the first frame is at the top - complicated, I know  ).

Then click the Insert button (between the Save and Save As ones - it has a yellow cross on it) and select the last-but-one frame (reverse order, remeber), and repeat that for the rest, working your way back to the first frame (it helps if you have all the frames in one folder).

HTH :)

now i wouldnt be really really annoying by asking if you would make my delays between frames shorter, would i? after looking at darth clem's and then back at mine it doesnt seem quite right- it looks too slow :(

here's a pre-emptive thanks!
