XWA Demo freezes

I've had the XWA Demo for a while but never bought the game cuz it would freeze sometimes before starting and the screen would just stay black. I don't think system specs are important, and it started happening when I reinstalled (I think). I didn't get any new hardware then. I tried to reinstall it multiple times but it still does it. Please help!
