HELP - Unsupported marker type 0x02 ???

Folks - Please help!

After completing level "yavin_trial" (where you get your Light Saber) JKII loads a short movie where the game locks up with the following error message:

*************************

Cannot play further - maybe someone can email me savegame "ns_streets"!

After having my game pooched by the damn 1.03 patch, I had to un/re/un/delete all saves/re-install it and start from the beginning again. (I was still in the first mission. Been busy.)

I played until the part where the probe droids were and had to knock off, when I go back and try to reload the save game, it's starts loading and then crashes to the desktop with the marker type error. Other parts of the log are:

Is that JPEG message relevant? I tried a different save point and that crashed as well.

I'm really getting sick of playing the same opening level, but if the patches are going to trash the game and then the game self-destructs, what am I to do?!?

I get a similar error message about unsupported marker type when I try to load the mines level (which I have yet to see).


Any fixes? It happens on both of my computers w' different specs.

Bad CD? bad install?

I get the same damn error on the garbage level (after you meet luke and get your saber.

As the level ends and I'm riding the garbage transport out, it posts my stats for the level and then begins loading the next level and exits out with that marker error the dump from above.

this happened on 1.0, then I patched to 1.03 to see if that would help - no dice.

I was just starting to like the game too.

I should add the following (edit):
win2000, GF3 Ti-200, 512megs ram.

Get this: After I posted last time, I tried to start the game and wouldn't ya know it? IT LOADED! I was able to finish the whole Kejim Base, but....

...after the cinematic with Mon Mothma giving them their next mission, it goes to the main menu screen and a black and yellow striped box comes up reading:

name " when expecting {

Now what and how can I get to the next level?

Jeez...this just gets dumber. I decided to give it a try again and it loaded and ran without a hitch for 3 hours. I just got my lightsabre back and hopefully my troubles are over.

Hope this stays this way (NOT gonna risk the patch!) and hope you guys find fixes, too.
