First of all I have sound blaster audigy platinum, and Creative inspire 5.1 digital 5700 speakers which both support EAX. My question is now EAX is provided with absolutly no instructions is there anything special I have to do to activate it aside from of course turning it on in the game's sound settings. I ask this because i remember having a hell of a time getting other things to work with these speakers like DTS for movies and such. Can anyone else in this situation who has it all set up help me out.

What O/S are you using?

Windows XP professional.

It's worth trying these (http://fernando.darocha.free.fr/sblive-audigy-xp.zip) XP/Audigy drivers, they're the only ones I've tried that have got my surround speakers to work in XP. I uninstalled all my creative software and just went with these driver.

They are part of an update that Compaq put out - why they are available from Compaq and not Creative is anyones guess.....

I have had absolutely no problem getting EAX/Surround sound with my Audigy under Win XP. Just used the CD drivers and updates available from Creative...Nothing special needed.
