I currently run on Windows 98 SE.. (or regular 98, I aint sure). And I have been told by a computer whiz friend of mine, that upgrading to Windows XP will help the performance of my JK2, as well as all other games... Is this true?

Maybe, but most poeople I have heard say anything about XP are having problems, so I would wait until the first service pack is released.

XP requires more resouces, so I find it kind of hard to believe I will increase performance on lower end machines, but if you're Mr. I have 1.5+Ghz, 512MB Ram etc.. system, it probably will because the NT kernal is MUCH more optimized than the 9X OS ever was. I used NT4.0 at work, and currently W2k, I think my next home OS is going to be W2K maybe. Will see what they say about XP after the service pack though.
