Well... they don't fly so how would the land? :bdroid1:

Oh yeah... I forgot all about that... :bdroid1: Well if droid fighter can trnasform in GB, all the other civs would have to have a transforming fighter... so I doubt they will transfom :ball:

That would be cool...but what would the point be...mobile defense station I guess...I could be like Tiberium Sun...the Tick tank embeds itself in the ground and becomes more powerful:D
It could be like that (exept they wouldn't embed into the ground):D

it would be also awesome if they could use proton torps :D

everything would be destroyed

Thats just the reason they won't be using torps... they would unbalance the game

Also they only want one type of weapon to come out of the ship so they won't have to take extra time.

I believe that it should be like this. The fighters have an energy bar. When its a full you can click the button and the fighter will shoot out a pair of projectiles at the target you selected. Of course it would have to be researched. . . :D

Why does that remind me of the Yamato gun in Starcraft? That would be nice.

Yeah! Awesome idea!
It would almost be like a trebuchet's attack power in AoE!;)

Force Commander had that...gave you a more powerful weapon.

If it was a game like ST Armada I'd say yes that is possible and would work great, but it isn't. It is ground warfare.

I still say a game like Armada would be awesome for SW.

I think it would be cool if they had a mech that was the deployed starfighter, and then it could "hop" over short areas like bodies of water. That would be cool. It would have weak lasers and shileds, but it would be cheap to. That could be an upgrade or something.

Yeah, it would be nice if you could research a thing for proton torpedoes, they could launch them from long range and would cause a lot of damage.

there are such things as bombers (they could have the torpedoes)

a deploying of droid fighters poses the same problem to the designers as the X-wing with it's S-foils. right now they're thinking of skipping the 'opening-closing' of them because it's proving to be too difficult on the eyes.
it is a very cool idea to have deployed droid fighters, but from the looks of them, they don't fight once they're deployed. so why would you want them that way ?

Why don't they have the S-foils open when the fighter is stopped, as the fighters cannot do a protoss number and shoot while moving. (on an unrelated note, do you think droid fighters look like interceptors?)

I personally think it is a waste of time. First of all, you would have to wait for the foils to open before you could attack, so that would slow it down in attacking. Second, they would be opening and closing so often that it would get really annoying.

true, all the other stuff I've seen has them locked open, but I think when the X-wings decellerate (movie effect) the S-foils open. They could do the same for Droid fighters

In the movie, droid starfighters can turn into walkers, we are wondering if they will be able to do this in the game.
