There are a few games that I would love to see some company remake.

1. Adventure (Atari 2600) Talk about bad graphics, you were a square! But the game was one of the best made EVER.

2. Defender of the Crown (C64) Think load times are long now? Try loading a game with 64 bytes of ram(not 64 megs!)This game had it all, jousting, storming castles, rescuing princess....

3. M.U.L.E. (c64) 'nough said.

Any others I have left out?

I think that there are quite a lot of C64 games that deserve a remake.

I remember Defender of the Crown...that's the game where a siege was more like a duck shoot right, where various enemy warriors popped their heads above the battlements and you had to shoot them with your crossbow! Ah yes, simple times... :-)

My favourite game, though, was War in Middle Earth for the Amstrad 128 (which meant that it had 128K memory in total!). It took 30-40 minutes to load from a cassette, and the volume setting on the tape player had to be EXCATLY right or the damn thing would crash -I remember actually holding my breath in case a disturbance of air pressure affected it! The game was so cool though. You commanded the massed armies of the good guys against the forces of Sauron and Saruman, as well as Frodo and co. The graphics were, of course, laughable by today's standards, but few games even now compare to it in gameplay. You couldn't save the game at all, so you had to sit there literally from morning to night. I never actually won the game either.

I actually downloaded a c64 emulator so I could play Defender of the Crown on my PC.

Did anyone ever do any programming on a c64? I made 2 games. One was called 'War Zone' which was a choose your own adventure text game and the other was called 'Brat' which consisted of several card/number games where the computer would constantly insult you as you played.

My computer does that with every game I play. http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/wink.gif)

A C64 is short for a Commodore 64, a computer releases way back in 1982.
There, now you know it.

I never had a C64 but did have the first intellevision system I think there where 3 versions of the system they only looked different no power up grades. One game I miss or at least remember as good was a game called Atlantis. It was like space invaders but different you used AAA ray guns to defend Atlantis and when you got in real trouble you could launch a flying sauser for a limited amount of time to take the fight to the air; it was mad fun. Graphincs where not bad for the time now their a goof. That had to be around 1983-84.

Intellevision was cool. Did anyone ever get the voice box? You plaugged it into the cartdrige slot then plugges the game into the voice box. The only two voice supported games I remember is 'B17 Bomber' and 'Bomb Squad'.

Back then we were easily impressed by games. And can you believe we would fork out $30 bucks for those graphics?

Never had the voice box but I do remember it. Intellevision had a ton of games most of the titles were pretty lack luster auto racing, boxing, baseball, space battle, and tank battle. There seemed to be a lull in the games and then they started to come out with some new ones chopper attack and comando and things like that. I loved Sub hunt that game rocked. The neat thing was the controller over lays and not loosing them they were awesome I mean each one made your controller look like a mini control panal or something good marketing job.

I think Bumb n jump was originally a colegovision game not an intellevison. It did come out later for intellivision I think but, I know for a fact that it was out for colegovision first.
