Sam and Max hate midi?

Why does Sam and Max crash instantly when I try to use general midi for midi sound? General midi works fine on my other dos-based games, like DOTT, Doom, Heretic, etc... but not Sam and Max. It's keeping me from playing it. Does anyone else get this problem?

I get this problem too, but then I don't have a MIDI driver. Problem solved.

You don't have a midi driver... so you get sound? Or you don't? If so, where do you get a midi driver? My other dos games are fine, and Lucasarts' web page has nothing to offer on this. Do I need to go to the sound card manufacturer's website?

Sorry, I was being a smart ass...

I'm not sure how to help you.
