Formations are extremely close to the implementation in AOK, darthfergie (8/21). The Trade Federation can have 800 droids at your control in single-player campaign mode. In standard and multiplayer modes, 200 is the limit for all civs. I hope I cleared that up.
NEW INFO!!!!!!!!!! FROM GABER!!!!!!!!
Fortress units can be upgraded to a better unit, Destroyer Droid (8/22). Destroyer Droids get a shield as part of that upgrade. The AT-AT (Assault Mech) costs 200 Food and 250 Nova as of this writing, but all costs are subject to change without notice.
SHIELDS!!!!!
sweet, 800 droids now there is an incentive to play as the TF in single player campaings.

An incredibly lage one at that:D
WoW I thought those guys were insane when they said that on the site...hmmm...
Where did you get AT-AT cost/droideka info fergie? I didn't read that... maybe he posted Part 2...
*sniff* I wish the TF would have more units in Multiplayer. Maybe not 800 units but more then the rest:(

Actually that'd be a good idea, instead of the TF having a civ bonous, they get a *slightly* higher pop limit.
i don't know kvan, but i'm pretty sure in multiplayer there are some bonuses for the TF. i'm sure they thought about this long before coming out with the right decision. nonetheless, if i'm playing against the TF in sp, that's pretty scary...
I thought the Galactic Empire has a bigger military force than the Trade Fed, as do the Ganguns. I mean Darth Sidios is really Palpatine, so the Empire should get at least as many units. As for the Ganguns, come on, the Trade Fed coudn't have given up all their forces. Hmmm... , maybe there is a cheat to get more units.
Is there an AoK cheat to get over the unit limit.

No I don't think so. AoE:RoR there was a tech where soldiers cost half in the population limit if you remeber...but that was back in the day where 50 was pop.
Yeah... that sucks, but it just one more reason to upgrade your copy of AOE into *drumroll* GALACTIC BATTLEGROUNDS! :p

There is one way to get over the pop limit. It was by having monks convert units to your side.
You, sir are AMAZING *gasps*!!!!!!
Honestly, I didn't think of that.
your welcome. It is a little hard but I managed to get 30 units pass the limit one time.
800 units...that might just be unstopable.
Can you even imagine that many units marching at you???
They must produce incredibly fast for them to make so many.
Yeah, it would be almost impossible if they had to build houses, good thing they don't.
Just because someone can make 800 units doesn't mean it will necissarially be easy to make that many. Also, how would having that many units moving around at once effect the game's performance?
Alright, stop the conveyor belts! The TF gets 800 droids and doesn't have to build houses?! That seems just a tad unfair to me. They better have one heck of a restraint in resource gathering!!!
no doubt they will. and imagine what 800 units cost on resources. what if those units are just as easily destroyed ? you'll end up with a bit of a problem if a well-prepared army takes out yours with ease and then marches into your largely unprotected base.

I don't know about "with ease" they probably don't have alot of tech upgrades for the troopers (besides Droidekas)
No matter what 800...oh crap Droidekas ADVANCEING ON YOUR BASE!!!!!
I think you people didn't understand this. The 800 pop cap, is ONLY IN CAMPAIGN MODE (that is in a scenario) Single player random map is called skirmish, and there, you can build only 200.
...which pretty much solves everything.
thanks, Compa.
i doubt if computer A.I. will be so good that it will really punish you for building such an army without proper defense, but we'll see.
Yeah, your armies are almost never marching on each other, it's always one attacking the others base/forward base. But they should be smart enough to counter attack........should.
Yeah, but usaully after the attack, you don't have a ton of troops left... and they'd all get slaughtered attacking 'cos they are weak from battle... :(
But if the TF has a resource disadvantage you can fix that by doubling or tripling your workers.
Yeah, you can have so many workers that you can never run low on anything AND have a huge army.
Also, while you are attacking just keep making alot of troops. Even if you reach your pop limit, they will die soon, and then when you get back you have another army ready, allbeit not as large as the first.
Yeah... the TF is looking better all the time (atleast in campaigns ;)) 200 villagers, 100 mechs, 500 soldiers :freakout:
Or 200 workers, 300 troops, and 200 mechs, and 100 blaster cannons.
you know how much that would cost?
I think the idea is to have like 150 workers 600 troops and like 50 mechs. They give you all those units so you can have a hoarde of troops, not mech, that would take way to long and be way to expensive.
Well, it doesn't really matter what this army has in it... Even if it was just 800 villagers, it would still do massive damage :D
hahahahaha i can see my workers right now storming your castles and beating u into the ground :D
You will have to break through my elite force of AT-AT's :atat: :atat: :atat: :atat:

Remeber Gaber said Villies are very week compired to AoK.:saberr:
Still... 800 villagers thats alot... they would destroy most of your town and army, regardless of how weak they are ;)

I can understand that, seeing as they are droids. It would be hard to see a 3po doing any dameage at all. then again, it would be cool to see an astromech shoot a little bolt of lightning. :D
Hehe... Yeah instead of attacking with butterknives, like in AOK they can shock the enemy!:D
Hannibal, you hail from JK.net, right?
A little off topic but if any one played RA1 a map called the Hills of Eyes. Civs were given weapons and could massacure you. (I bring this up because your talking of going into battle with villies)
Anyways, I love it when somebody gets mostly villagers and I get my army and some monks (I have more villagers plus a good army and my oppenet is screwed) with 800 pop limit
I would grab like 799 droids (of some kind) 1 sith and convert enemy workers.
Yep!:D JK.net my alma mater.:)
Hey. mine too. Although i don't post there that often.
Who said anything about making 800 units? Im guessing that its going to be in a mission based on when the Gungans fought the TF. Tour 800 vs a Gungan 200 thats gonna be a sweet mission.
Gaber did :D He said that you could get up to 800 units for the TF in the campaign, so i'm thinking that he's probably not lying, and you really can get 800 droids.
Yeah but in MP you won't have 800 droids.:(
there would be too much lag...

I still do... I respond to most topics- that interest me... but I average like 5 posts a day... hard to believe, seeing how much I post here :D
similar to the amount of posting I do per vist.
I just visit a lot :D

Actually, the TF's bonus is to be able to build units w/o needing houses.
