If the Empire really destroyed the Jedi but a few escaped dont you think that they would have come out of hiding when the Emperour was destroyed. i mean there were 10'000 alone on coruscant so i dont think that a man who looks like he is going senile and a gremlin who almost has no legs were the only ones destroyed. There must be more out there and I want to see them!

Maybe those two where the only one the survived the slaughtering of the Jedi's, but there where lot's of Jedi's who had children, and those weren't destroyed.

No, all the jedi were slaughtered. I imagine that also includes their children.

Like Obi-Wan said to Luke:

"The Emperor knew if Anakin were to have any offspring, they would be a threat to him"

I imagine this applies all the Jedi.

A handful of Jedi survived (Empatojayos Brand and Corwin Shelvay are two examples) but, like Yoda and Ben, they had to remain in hiding. Brand became king of a primitive culture (and didn't know about the Empire's fall), and Shelvay was a "freelance trader" (read "Smuggler") working with the Rebellion. I'd imagine that most of the survivors (quietly) joined the Alliance and died during the Galactic War.

The only Force users to survive were the Dark Jedi who followed Palpy & Vader (Hethrir, Lumiya, Jerec, Tremayne, and so on).

Bear in mind that the Purges happened a long time ago; in order to escape, a child would've have been a few years older than Luke at most. Any survivors would've been ancient by the time of the original trilogy. Most of the surviving infants never knew of their Force abilities until Skywalker (or someone else) told them.

I posted a topic with nearly this exact title over a year ago. Except mine was:

Where have all the Jedis gone?

I made up the title after that song that was out on the radio at the time http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/wink.gif)

Hello all. Like you all said Yoda and Ben weren't the only other Jedi. Read the Thrawn Trillogy by Timothy Zahn. Or I Jedi and the Rogue Squadron series by Michael A. Stackpole. And then in later books Luke starts his Jedi Acadamy and trains many students. http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/wink.gif)

We're talking about the period of time between Episode III and ROTJ. Not after ROTJ, we all know those stories...

The reason they didn't come out of hiding was simple - you obviously go in hiding on some Outer Rim, dark, lonely planet. It's not like the instant the Empire is destroyed, it gets broadcasted throughout the whole galaxy. Why, in the Jedi Academy Trilogy, the Imperial Outpost in the Maw Installation still thought that the Empire was alive and well in the galaxy, when it had been toast for 10 years.

And some people didn't know they were Force-sensitive. :\
