Beware of SCARY MOVIE! It is very funny, but the humor is entirely based on nudity (well, for some that could be a good thing, but most of the skin shown is male skin and guys might not like this). Some girls at the movie theater I was at actually walked out on it because of the adult content. I'd say the movie is pressing the 'R' rating it got. However, it is funny, and if you can laugh at this kind of movie I would recommend seeing it. Also, if you haven't seen "I know what you did last summer", "The Matrix", or "Scream", don't bother seeing this movie. You will miss every single joke (Scream is a must to enjoy this movie). I'm hoping to see some more movies soon, because this summer has been really slim for me movie-wise.

i seen scary movie, and thought it was a dissapointment. i've seen the perfect storm and thought it was good, but could have been better. the grapics were awesome. x-men i liked and thought was worth watching. the fighting scenes and character accuracy was great. for movies already out on video & dvd, check out the new bond film, the world is not enough. check out man on the moon as well. jim carry gives an excellent performence. scream 3 is a perfect end in the scream trilogy; the action and suspence were just awesome and the movie is worth seeing. my sister went to see the patriot and she loved it. (i couldnt trust her judgement because mel gibson is in it. http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/wink.gif0)

those are my reviews(im a movie person)

I'm not really into typical "guy movies" (guess I'm not a typical guy http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/cool.gif) ); I hated Gladiator and I thought M:I-2 was mediocre at best.

The only really good movies I've seen recently are Titan A.E. and X-Men. Both of which I loved, even after having to march through Old Testament-style rain to get to X-Men (I wasn't about to wait another week).

Dinosaur and Chicken Run are also good, but a bit too anthropomorphic and Disney-ized for my taste.

I saw Dinosaur,Chicken Run and MI:2.

I only liked the computer animation in Dinosaur the story was not that great.

Chicken Run is a OK movie http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/smile.gif)

<font size="3"> AND <font size="2">

I think they used that face thing alittle to much in MI:2 other then that it was a cool movie.

http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/biggrin.gifI) don't think I will see A SCARY MOVIE http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/biggrin.gif)

I'd like to go and see Chicken Run, mainly because it is made by the same guys as 'Wallace and Gromit', which I thought was extremely funny. I'm not sure if W&G is shown in the US.

Gladiator: A bit long, quite boring in the middle, but great opening and ending sequences.

*Gladiator Spoilers*

Well, my big beef with Gladiator was that the plotting was rotten. The "gladiator" parts had only a vague relation to the "political intrigue" parts. With a title like Gladiator, I was expecting something along the lines of a struggle for freedom from the fighting pits, but instead I got a simple vengeance plot layered over a (fairly weak, IMHO) political story.

The fight scenes were just there as an excuse to show violence and gore (this is called "catering to the lowest common denominator") and had no relevancy to the story. All the gory bits could've been cut, and the movie would still work.

'Course, what really depresses me is to think that humans actually enjoy watching butchery like that (judging from the cheering in the theatre). And this is a species I'm supposed to be proud to belong to?

No thanks. I think I'll stick with the cats.

Well, I sometimes disagree with people saying such things as:

"The fight scenes were just there as an excuse to show violence and gore (this is called "catering to the lowest common denominator") and had no relevancy to the story. All the gory bits could've been cut, and the movie would still work."

Granted, the violence could have been cut with the story still intact, but this movie was about war and a struggle for survival. I feel the movie has more of an impact when things such as blood and guts are present. I mean, all gladiators do is kill each other. It doesn't seem real unless you see it happen. Just my opinion, though. I do admit Spartacus and Braveheart blew this movie out of the water, but I didn't think this movie was THAT bad.

X-Men: cool
MI-2: sucked
Rules of Engagement: great Sam Jackson flick
Perfect Storm: Good but depressing 'cause
it really happened
Chicken-Run: Good in an odd sort of way
The Patriot: Best one I've seen this summer
Gladiator: so-so
Scary-Movie: funny to a point (the fact that
it was spoofing a lousy string
of Movies was the drawback)

It was a miserable excuse for a action flick. Must be John Woo's little experiment to see how American audiences would react to his style of film-making.

Its sucked because:

1: Plot was horrible
2: Acting was mediocre, uncommited at best
3: To many cliches
4: Mask thing was done to the point of overkill
5: The film tries to be flashy and dramatic where it just wasn't
6: There were Way too many slow motion segments that just didn't belong in there

http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/wink.gifThat) is why MI:2 sucked http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/wink.gif)

I thought MI2 was bad. Reason: John Woo ruined it by making it more like a Bond film than a M:I film...

X-Men: X-Cellent

Gladiator: Cool Flick, sad at some times though...

Everything else: haven't seen....

The only movies i saw this year were dinosaur and rocky and bullwinkle, Dinosaur was good for one time (probably better at the theatre than on vcr or dvd) and bulwinkle was kinda funny and kinda boring-not worth seeing.

I saw the previews for "They Nest" and I think that was enough! Way groady! http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/eek.gif) It actually looked like it might be a pretty good movie except for all those bugs! I just hate insects of any kind... eww!

I did just recently see What Lies Beneath. It wasn't as scary as Sixth Sense, but still pretty good, AND it's got Harrison Ford in it! http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/smile.gif) But I'd have to say Gladiator was definitely the best movie of the summer. I also really liked The Perfect Storm, except for the ending of course. http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/frown.gif) These choices, however, have nothing to do with their leading men! Russell Crowe and George Clooney http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/tongue.gif) http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/wink.gif)

The only other ones I'd like to see are The Replacements, Space Cowboys, and Autumn in New York (chick flick) http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/rolleyes.gif)
