I think it would be cool if gungans could jump in the water and swim.

Only if they could be drowned ;)
Actually that would be interesting, seeing a whole bunch of Gungans swimming to your base....

Hmm, i don't think so, it would be cool, but haven't we already given them enough advantages?

The Tanya unit in RA2 can do that but its not used a whole lot, so i don't know how usful it would be

Hello Sir Michael. Welcome to the GB boards. :) You should be recieving your giftbasket shortly. ;)

I think it would be cool if they would have a limited amount of time they could swim and if they went over that time, they drown. :D

i think it would be cool for gungans to swim. but wouldn't that kind of be unfair if there's no way of killing them underwater? if they have that ability, there has to be a way of shooting them down, otherwise it's kind of unfair. i like your suggestion boba, maybe have them come up for air and then swim again so that it eats up time.

When we say Gungan, we are talking about just the grunt troops right?
BTW Rhett I never got a giftbasket when I joined!

Maybe there could be some kind of electrocution weapon were you set water probes on boths sides of a body of water and when something is detected swiming across the lines created by the two probes, it sends an electrical surge into the water. It could also be a double edged sword by also being able to damage units standing by the water. :)

Hey! I want a gift basket too! WAAAAAAHHHHHHH! *sniff, sniff :(* Where's mine?! P.S. Take out any choclate covered cherries please (I hate those things).

Anyway, I think it would be great if Gungans could swim, but not the grunts just a special unit or something. And boats should be able to his him easily so he'd need to use stealthy tactics. :D

Thanks Rhett! *Shares his basket with thrawn, but only the Choco cherries* ;)
If only a special unit can swim isn't that just like the boats they have already? ME, personally would say just the grunts should swim.

yeah i agree kvan, if anything have the grunts swim. gungans already have unique sub units and will probably posess the most powerful navy anyways.

I would have to say that they sohould be able to swim and for as long as they want.

So the gungans are really strong in the water, what are they going to be like out of water (A fish out of water???)

It would be wierd trasnporting half your army over water by boat and half swam...(they would swim above the water like Tanya or the Navy Seals)

I think that it would be cool if they could swim, but to keep it balanced, maybe they could swim above the water like the tanya unit in RA2 and when they are swimming, they have fewer hp and are easier to kill. Then you could give the other units and towers, etc. the ability to fire at them while in the water. This would make it so that the gungans would be taking quite a risk just sending a swimming army right up to your front doorstep. They would have to be sneaky using this.:bdroid1:

And they shouldn't be able to attack boats or anything in the water, if they can swim. Also, if they swim they should be able to be shot at with lasers in the water, even though that sounds wierd, and maybe they would have lower defenses in the water, and couldn't attack right awawy when they got out.

well, if they can swim, i don't think the gungans should be greatly hampered, or else no one is going to want to put them in water anyways. that's something for gaber and LEC to decide.

Is there any reason the the droid army can't go in the water???

Remeber in the movie they said they had heard the gungans were there and they said they (the droid commander) would get them (the gungans)

If you think along those lines, then anyone should be able to swim. If you really want to get into the movies, then the jedi should be able to swim using those cool breathing aparatus that both Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan had in TPM.

when the TF said they would go down a get the gungans what they probably did was use an amphibpus MTT that sent there troops down there into the underwater cities.

No, no. Not everyone should be able to swim. That would make boats pointless. Besides, the why not just have everything be land? No, only on special Gungan unit should swim, maaayyyybe a Jedi IF they research an upgrade. Hmmmm, thats a good idea, perhaps that special gungan unit could be upgraded to swim? :D

I wasn't saying that everyone should be allowed to swim, I was just saying that if you follow the logic of, "hey they were able to in the movies." then everyone should be able to swim. I personally agree that it should be limited greatly, if included at all. The upgrade idea isn't a bad one. It would have to cost a lot though cause a swimming cloaked jedi would be one dangerous little guy. Then again, a cloaked jedi period is going to be a dangerous guy.

Ok, if the Gungans can swim, the wookiee troops should be able to walk through the trees, but they would walk slowly and all.

Now, what could the other civs have?

Everyone can walk throught shied on this game, but the enemy doesn't get a shield bonus, while your guys get the bonus still.

ALL units can walk through shields. Shields only provide extra health, they don't prevent things from coming in or out. :D

Maybe the rebels could fit more in a transports, since they are allways moving around an all.

And the imps could garrison more units into defense towers.

I already said that Rom, but don't you think 3 times more is a little much?

Anyway, does anyone have any new ideas for the TF?

Well... I'd say the 800 unit thing is good enough, but... Maybe the TF could get some kinda bonus, were if some special unit was around them or close to them, they would be faster, and more deadly, etc.

Yes, and faster to make, since it takes less time to program a droid than it does to train a humans/aliens.

I think that they should not be able to attack when they are swimming but can be seen. I ment this as a escape route.
I read someplace that the tf dont need houses because they are droids.

welcome sir michael!

thats correct and the gungan shouldn't be able to swim because they already have a strong navy plus if you are tring to say that the gungans swim in the movie well so could everybody else.

hmm, will maybe the factory will be able to produce 2 droids at a time? however, if they are cheap already, then scratch that idea, that would be soooo unfair.

Do you guys remember what preview you read that in? I don't think I've read that one yet. I know I've read about the no houses part, but the wood, hmm.
