Guard towers. Also, start making troops as soon as you can.

set up defenses if you can also. if you've played starcraft and you went up against zergs, you know what i'm talking about.....

The best defense against an early rush is solid scouting, and defensive building placement. If you prepare an early defense in Tl1, and your opponent rushes to Tl3, you are going to be greased up and bent over. By scouting your opponents resources, you can generally tell if he is planning an early rush, and you can prepare by walling defensivly or by building towers/a military of your own. Preemptive defense, is, in general, a very bad idea.. preparing for an attack that does not come will often cost you the game.

Hehe... It'll be fun to see AT-AT's rushing... (although I'm sure they aren't the quickest units in the game :luke:)

Thats an understatement. I believe they are one of, if not the slowest unit in the game, but also one of the best armed, i'll take the firepower anyday, as long as they aren't too slow.

yup, give them (AT-AT's) the firepower, and let other units take of the speed.

Will there be snow-speeders with tow ropes??..good way to thwart an AT-AT rush!

Yes, in fact thats the REbels UU. I'm not sure if there will be towcables, or not. Perhaps towcable could be an upgrade?

how do you know the rebel uu is a snow speeder. All I have seen is that it is a special Mech Destroyer unit. Those snow speeders weren't real effective against the AT-AT's in the battle of Hoth without the tow cables, so they don't sem like very good Mech Destroyers. imho :biggs:

I was kind of thinking the same thing, I was hoping their UU was the B-Wing. That would work as a mech desroyer.:D

I have known the Unique unit for a LONG time. I was just saying it would be cool if it was a B-wing.

I know that the rebel uu is an airspeeder, but it doesn't say it is the one from the battle of hoth.

Build walls, lots of walls, many walls, make the great wall of China look like your backyard fence...

It is, Jay posted a screen from PC Gamer that had it in it a while ago. Plus, what other speeder is there, they all look the same, no matter where they are located.

yeah, but i agree with audomadik. you should use scouts to check out a foe's resources and see what they're up to. you could be wasting resources on defenses when you should be using it on importang upgrades/units/buildings/tech levels, esp. if the foe is not an early rush type of guy.

I as playing on easy when i first got the game. I started to scout with my starting cavalry right away and found them. I then harassed their villagers until he gave up. It was like the quickest match ever. :D

i cant wait to try out some of the strategyies i used in Starcarft on multiplayer missions :p hopefully they work in this too

i think rushing at the beginning has to be rationalized. a good thing to do is to scout, build up force like your gonna rush, wait for for the nme to spend all their money on defense and then keep moving up the tree your self. Defensive turrets and such are good, but troops that can stop the nme AND launch an attack is better. I like to rush, but sometimes you can fake rush and cause your nme to go beserk
:D

Thats when i have fun

yeah, well the thing is that unlike starcraft where units were really unique, each unit and building is similar among the civs, so basically if you see something that looks like a turret, chances are it is a turret. thus, you'll have a general sense of what each unit in each civ does even if you haven't played with that civ yet. nonetheless, i want to see what the wookie rush is like:cool:

Yeah, a massive army of wookiee troopers should be quite intimidating.

And, i don't think that the units will be as similar as you think. I mean, if you've never played with the civ how are you too know one tank for the next, or from an upgraded one?
 Lord JayVizIon

well, if you've ever played starcraft, you'll know what i mean. also, pcgamer even stated that unit classes from each civ to the next won't be as separated from another civ. for example, in starcraft the basic terran grunt was a marine who had both air and ground attacks. the protoss have the zealot which only has ground effects. thus, what i meant was that you can have an idea or a prediction of what attack style a unit will have. i don't have any units to compare with for swgb so it makes it difficult to explain.

destroyer driod rush would be hard to counter but not to early. beating of the rushes can be done by building cheap walls to slow them down so you can build an army.

...those are all pretty much the AOK-strategies.
I think those Wookiee-rushes and destroyer-droid rushes won't be as bad as people think. After all, what if those are units you can only build in the third tech level or something ?

We haven't actually seen the lower class units yet, come to think of it..

To stop a rush, I would build walls, and scout both can be a great help. also walls are usualy cheap.
