When the game comes out, does anyone want to play me and show me how to defend from a rush? seeing the fact there are alot of people on the boards who rush and the fact i will be playing with the rest of this great GB community i think i should try to learn to defend against them. I'd be much appreciative to learn ;)

Hey, glad to see you've finally decided to counter act against the rush rather than your previoius strategy of whining about it :)

I would say the best thing to do is setup a room on the Zone with the title Rushers Wanted, or something similar or play against some of the more known clans (YH or Nexis) and you'll probably get a nice dose of it.

Just build towers and sentrys to protect your workers as often as you can and that goes along way toward defeating the tactic.

Towers should be close to your farms, prefab shelters, and command center, and ore...don't build them out away from the base because they'll just walk right by them.

Sentries should be built out farther away so they can't build a troopcenter/mini-base near yours in the beginning. This will also help prevent tower rushes.

After you've built sentries, keep an eye on your map for enemy colors and send troops out to take care of any workers who might be building near you.

There is a good long article here about defending against rushes:

hope that helps too

This article does have a few useful tips, but seems a little bit too conservative...and if you get on the run like the article mentions, your pretty much doomed unless they rusher gives up for a while or you have an ally to protect you.

Most of the time if they are good enough to rush you, they will be good enough to track you down and finish you off.

Or you could always try taking the offensive and rushing yourself. If you can assault them before they assault you then you have the upper hand.

"..but not at the expense of the moment. Be mindful of the living gaming legends, my young Padawan."

:D

I'd be happy to show you some defense-strats in recorded games once i have them..
The VERY best defense is, as always, offense. Send 1 worker to a remote place on the map and have him build a troop center, power core and turret WHILE you build your regular base. That requires some speed-building training. Then, when you get rushed, you can use the four or five troopers that you built in that base by that time to get inside his base and kill a couple of workers. That way he won't have the economy to continue rushing and will have spent a LOT of resources on something that failed.
