Look, I'm sick of hearing people complain that rushing ruin's the game, or that rushing takes all the strategie away, or that rushing is the only reason experts are good so they are not really good.

Rushing is a part of the game people, it takes alot of skill, strategy, and experience to pull off. It's not as easy as alot of you rookies make it out to be. The reason experts are better is not cause they rush, it's because they have taken the time to learn how the game works and in that process they have found that rushing is fun, challenging, and a great aspect of the game.

So next time you want to go complaining that rushing ruins the game, maybe give rushing a try yourself, or at least learn to defend one. Your complaining is not going to take it away so you might as well learn to do it(recomended) or learn to stop it(good luck on that)

Well, the ONLY thing i have against rushing is that it makes the games short almost every time. Thats why i don't like it, because i like to play long games with lots of battles and units and things.

It makes the game shorter?? Huh? If you die so fast because of rushing, then improve your gameplay. Rushing to me is a good strat and promotes skill and brings out the best in players. I guarentee that all the people who complain about rushing are the people who cant stop it. Once you develope a skill that stops it, I gaurentee yet again that they change their minds on it. Rushing is and forever will be part of a game. If they did not want it in the game, they would have set a time limit on to when somebody can start attacking.

Hmm, tough subject.
I dont know what to think about rushing. On the other hand its a good tactic that you must master good to do some damage on the opponent.
But if you know how to defend rushes, youll get out fine.

I had a game last nite against a mate and he came rushing with some mounted troopers, grenadiers, troopers and tie-fighters. All i had was 3 troopers, 1 X-wing, 2 air-turrets and 2 normal turrets. And i managed to survive without any heavy damage.
Gives a rush when you survived that :)

Rushing does make a game short, especially if you "experts" go into a newbie room and rush. If you guys know the person your playing is a newbie or not too good defending rushes and you rush its cheap, but if you and your friend are playing and your both good and all thats not really a problem likewise if your in a Tournement without Restrictions its all good but playing a newbie or novice and rushing is plain cheap and morally wrong. Sure the games fun for you but to hell with the people your playing with right? rushing can be quite selfish in that respect.

Thats not a player, thats a bullie. You dont even need to rush in that case to make a game short if that player is so much better than his opponent. I went in a game that said expert only to have the host turn out to be quite new and I set up just a regular attack and managed to wipe him out.

tirion, your tatics wont work against me again and i wont keep running like the rebels in the film, i build some x wings and transports and i thought i would evacuate everytime he attacked and use my x wings to destroy him , like in the film, but let me tell you it dosent work,

Heh, that was a fast 10 replies. Anyway, an expert who goes into a newbie room is no expert. He is a jerk who thinks he's good because he can beat up on newbies. A real expert would play with other players at his skill level.

yeah rushing is ok..not when it happens to u tho..and i REALLY hate it, when expets rush you, during noobie games...damn..cheap...bums..

I like a few others don't care for rushing. Although I acknowledge it as a tactic. I prefer a longer game. Also there are different types of rushing you must acknowledge.

1.The troop rush. (build a lot of troops and go for the kill quickly)

2.Technology rush. Get to tech level 3(soon to be 4 :D) as soon so you get the heavry stuff. (this is what I like to do).

Rushing isn't just one layer. like the man said it is a harder tactic then it appears.

You guys are still persisting on shorter games eh? Well let me show you some reality.. I just got done playing Paragon_Leon. He rushed me almost right off the bat with troops.... the game lasted over 2 hours. So like I said, if you die that fast, then just work on your gameplay and trust me, the games will be "longer".

does anyone know any anti-rushing tactics?

scout, scout and scout again.

intercept drones building forward structures.

best defense is offense: hurt his economy !

Well, i resigned, he was winning basically. Had a few fortresses left but no way to get my econ up again after he was scourging all over my base. I'm still a bit rusty, as this was my fifth ever multiplayer game of GB..

It was the best game I was ever in to date for the demo. I recorded the game if anybody wants to see it for themselves. It was one great battle after another and hard fought on both ends. Paragon_Leon fought an outstanding match and that was the longest game I ever played as well. In the end I surrounded his base and just kept driving in on both sides.

As they said in Top Gun.. he could be my wingman anytime =P

Yeah I would like that. That game was a TON of fun and I really enjoyed it. I guess everybody wants to see our strats Leon hehe. For 2 weeks I kept hearing, "You gotta play Leon! He is the best! You gotta play him!" I guess this was the world series of the swgb demo lol.

But in all reality, I know I am not the best because for one thing, I am not even an rmer. I mainly play DM. Nexsis has 2 members that can most likely beat me in rm and that is Sirion and Warlord. If you guys want to see the best, play them.
