Infinite Machine (
http://www.infinite-machine.com/) [developers of Sam & Max "in Space"] has been dawdling with the release of New Legends, its high-profile game for the XBox. It was supposed to be released "early 2001", later postponed to winter 2001 (for the XBox), and now we're likely to see it near spring 2002. One reason that comes to mind is a simultaneous release for the three consoles on the market: XBox, GameCube, and PS2. GameSpot and Gamespy got a hold of a "fairly finished" version of the game last month, so it seems that the publisher, THQ, deliberately missed the holiday season release date. THQ is probably pushing all of it's small developers' games for a multiconsole release.
Board member Chewie asked if Sam & Max "in Space" will be coming to GameCube. To put it in the words of Gone Gold (
http://www.gonegold.com): Magic 8-ball says, "all signs point to yes".
Looks like my guess is **** (or, as you say, ****). Release is scheduled to January 20th. Three months is too short a time to port a game to a single console, let alone two. Screw the magic eightball.
