With people not wanting to play rush games, will the wookies be as prductive? They seem like a civ who would be nice to rush with, but it looks like few will allow rushing. Further, do you guys think wookies can make it with only strong troops?? I know they have strong air too, but the majority of armies will be troops, can that really be effective?? Thoughts please

I'm playing rush games...too bad for anyone facing me...Now if I'm in a tourny or a game that outlaws it we'll see about it...

The Wookies are going to rock though...regeneration will kick arse...

WHy do people get on here and try to play it like rush is the end all be all o tactics....oooh, i can rush! Fear me! Im just gonna chop wood and get food and build lots of guys and come at ya oooh! Rush only works if the other person doesnt know you are going to rush, if rushing is agreed upon form the start then they will just build troops and do the ole turret rush just like you. Always cool to see an unsuccessufll rusher, which will always always get his a** handed to him if the first 2 rushes fail. Also, i guess Wookies arent all the craze everyone thought they would be. Personally, i dont know why they gave them 2 campaigns, i cant really think of an extraordinary amount of crazed fan websites about wookies so where the hype came from i dont know. Good troops are good for a cheap rushin army but if the rush fails might as well act like you're comp lost connectivity..hehe

Not very well said, but parts of it are right. You are correct there are disadvantages to rushing just like every other strategy. Thats the beauty of RTS

They will still be good in an experts control, but for the average player they won't be very effective.

There is no end to the whinning...even way back when Warcraft was out nobody liked a rush, and its still the same today, but if you dont rush somebody and they kick your butts then its, "ooh, he didn't allow rush, that's why i lost..yeah that's it!"

listen live with a rush, because so many people use it, you might as well embrace it.

You listen :D

I don't know if they're whining about rushing, but the reason I don't like it is because it takes all the strategy out of a bloody STRATEGY game...

But you can rush if you want, it's your prerogative. I just won't play against you :D I expect my games to last at LEAST 45 minutes, so there is time to strategize, combine forces, and all that good stuff.

If you send in 20 pummels and a sith its considered bad gameplay. If you send in a little more of a diversified attack its not...

No, its just a way of saying i wanna get more than 15 minutes out of the game. If i play, i wanna play long, fun games, not quick short ones. Thats why i don't like rushing, not because i think it is "cheap".

Anyways, as for the wookies...I think they will be effective. If you have a force of upgraded wookiee troopers, and you support them with some berserkers for the mechs, and throw in some air support for more protection, they you can have a very effective force i think. And that doesn't even include any artillery either.

The wookies will have a strong infrantry force which may or may not be good in the game. I wont judge untill I have the final copy.

I think that the Wookies troops will make up for other units sucking. They will be one of the best civs in the game in my opinion.

I won't play as the wookies, i hate them :D

To rush or not to rush, that is the question.... I don't really like rushing but if it will all depend of house rules, i mean host rules. If it is allowed, well it's part of the game and that's it. No big deal for me.

The Wookies are my second favorite civ so far (Next to da Naboo)

Their troops will make up for their weaknesses, and you could substitute Beserkers in for Jedi..

I honestly thopught the wookies would be the burly civ...ya know...strong in mechs, troops and heavy weapons, but weak in air, but looks like they gave the wookies a kinda weird mixture of troops and air. They dont look as strong as i thought and i'd bet on Gungans and Trade Fed over them.

They balanced out these civs pretty good IMO, in one on one battles, Wookies look like they can hold their own with just about anyone, they are so multi-faceted. I don't know how kick ass the berserkers will be, but they look awesome.

I think the key will be in team games, where you can tie in with another civ that can cover up your weaknesses.

That is true..getting the right combination of civs will be very important in multiplayer...but if you're playing 1 on 1 or a single player mission and your enemy makes it to tech 3 i think the wookies will be toast.

i think mech could beat troops anyday, except for that regeneration thing. thats the only good thing about the wookies to me.

i dont know what you guys have against rush games
rush games are 'good' and they separate the men from the boys
i agree that im one of the boys cuz i cant rush and i loose to rushes but I admire those who can rush well cuz its a tactic thats hard to master cuz your fighting in enemy terriotory
i dont see why people dont 'allow' rushes

It doesn't seperate the men from the boys, it seperates the patient from the impatient.

Where's the strategy in sending 50 probots to your enemies base before he even builds a troop center?

Besides, for all those who don't know how to defend themselves against a rush, just use the bell thingie that garrisons your workers. Once inside your command center they shoot lasers out to the enemy.
