And I also have a question:
Without the Power Cores, the buildings work at 25% of capacity, right? But, all the building? I mean, a gun turret shoots faster with a power core? And a food processor researchs faster with a PC?
So what exactlly is your question? Lol :p Post your question again but correct it.

I THINK it only affects the making of stuff
Power Cores do not affect gun turrets as far as I know. I am not sure if it affects reseaching.
It does effect researching :)
