Because I got a message like that, so I messaged the forum Admin (in this case ZeroXcape)

Seriously EPD, you gotta tone down your attitude about other forums now. Think twice about saying one forum sucks, or person A in forum Z sucks X. One thing affects everything else here.
Yeah seriously tho - those GB moderators, they left me in the middle of a field without food...

besides, given LEC's most recent SW record, GB is a highly enjoyable game. it's built on a sturdy engine and i would recommend it to any RTS fans.

Right so you may be a mod, but i'd apreciate it if you didn't use 'gay' as in insult on the forums, or anywhere. Perhaps giving a second thought that some people may actually be insulted by how you use it would help your current not-so-good reputation with some people.

I did actually edit out "gay" from his message, but he obviously put it back in. In italics. Not good.
oh sorry, i didn;t know i was offending anyone, where i live it's not even offensive to gay people. i am not homophobic, i have many gay friends (including my own sister) it's just something i say - but if people REALLY do have an issue with it then i'll cut it out
also, as to people not liking me, i can't help that, if i was just a registered user i would still act the same way and i'm sorry if people find that offensive. being an admin doesn't make me a special case, if there's trouble i'll stop it, if there's issues i'll deal with it, if things are considered distasteful they can be edited and that includes my own posts of course.
i have now been told that saying the word "gay" was offensive despite my reasons given above and thats fine by me, but i wont change who i fundamentally am just to increase my reputation. i'm here to help, not to win popularity contests
I do think people have an issue with it, so it'd probably be good if you were a little more careful in the future.

what exactly have i done wrong? I haven't insulted anyone, it's just been a series of odd and occasionally relevant posts - i've used language which offends so i apologised and said i wouldn't use it any more, what more can i do?

But to avoid offending anyone, just substitute that word with: "queer"
"Queer" means: to spoil or otherwise ruin the success of... As in: "To queer a deal.
or it can mean: Unusual or out of place. As in: "That is a queer thing, indeed.
Seems appropriate to me.

its not the word i worry about, i can deal with not saying 'gay', it's like not being able to say 'mate', it'd be easy after a while, it's just that no one has said anything else to me so i don't know why i have an I-hate-lemonhead un-fanclub
I have yet to see a "I-hate-lemonhead un-fanclub", and I will repeat again - some people took offense to the use of the word "gay". Don't take it so personally, we're all friends here :)
