Will GB suffer from tank rush syndrome?

remember C&C? easiest way to win was basically build tanks in their hundreds, and plow forwards. Most people played like that, and ruined many a game.

Do you think GB will suffer similarily? AT-AT rushes? In theory no, because you hit them from the skies, or use units that they aare poor against. But what do you think?

No. Definantly not AT-AT rushes. There are some excellent early game offensive options that allow you to prevent most enemys from reaching 4th age with an economy to mass produce AT-AT's. Also, STWGB like AOK has a large emphasis on counter units that prevents one unit from being able to dominate the game.

In STWGB economy is 75% of the game. You want to hurt your opponents economy while keeping yours strong. If you are succesful at this, you can finish him off with the units of your choice. The best way to hurt your opponents economy is to kill the opponents villagers in the early to mid game. In general, the best units for doing this are fast mobile units. AT-AT's don't fit this.

In C&C i always used troop rushes. I found them much more effective and much, much cheaper.

Anyways, i don't think that Assault Mech rushes will be that much of a problem. As we've all seen, you need more than one type of unit to take down a good base, Assault mechs can't do it all on their own.

The mechs you're talking about are only available relatively late in the game. In the early minutes, you have to rely on troops to make a dent in the other player's economy. My friend's an expert in rushing and has already won quite a few games with it.. If that is executed correctly, there isn't even a base yet to demolish !

very good point there emo. one thing about C&C is that it doesn't rely on using a well planned out economy, rather just on how fast you can collect ores with your ore miners and cranking out the most troops. this game is based on aok, and you need anywhere ranging from a decent to a bustling economy to produce troops. there's going to be more thinking in this game...

i seriously doubt a good player would have any probs with an enemy using a ATAT rush...

besides there's the walls, shields and towers to settle b4 attacking the base

There will be in my opinion at least 5x as much thinking.

1. Need for more workers on carbon. It gets gathered a lot slower and more troops need it to be made.

2. Can't just make one type of unit. You do this, you will lose fast. Mixed armies work better now, not like in AoK where it was all eagle warriors or paladins. Need some AA, bounty hunters, mechs, troops, and ships all put into a nice package.

3. Air units. This gets its own category because they can change the entire play. If you have 3 fighters vs nothing that can shoot them, you have won.

4. Towers and fortresses are not the main focus. Use them, you're dead too.

5. Pure Assault mech rush won't work. They can be a nice start, but can't finish on their own. Ton O' Jedi would kill them.

Here are most of the reasons, that GB is NOT AOK with SW graphics :) The gameplay is SOOOOO different :)

an at-at can be baet by a royal crusader (rc) because a RC ISS close range and the at-at isnt.
mechs can be beat by jedi however jedi can be beat by bounty hunters.
my point is that one groupl of units can be beaten easily by there counter unit you you must combine different units in order to win.
for example jedi and bounty hunters are a great team. they pretty much always do it for me.

Every unit just about has to be used when you think about it.
