It seems like everything else has been covered so far, except probably the most important part of the game: the story. I can't really think of what will happen at all in the plot besides the fact that Kyle returns from his exile to get his lightsaber back from Luke. Why does he do this? What is this evil that Kyle returns to face? I think it would be great if the story went along with the New Jedi Order series and Kyle came back to fight the Vong. That make a great story and add something new to the series. What do you guys think?

This point has really been missed and not been given an in depth discussion. We know for sure that a dark jedi rises and develops something to harness the force (similar to JK in some ways), but what will happen to lead to this?? But...to surprise u all, even i havnt got any ideas on this one.
I guess it will all be cleared as Lucasarts slowly releases more info.
Yeah, it'll be a while now until a lot more information is given....and its not lucasarts....its RAVEN remember. LEC just sold the license!

They wont have much information.....well of course they have an idea what goes on because its their license, but Raven will be realeasing most of the information! Either way, it'll be a while until we get some proper stuff! I heard this from one of my friends in contact with gaming developers anyway, is this true Zerocape?? You lot should know?? I think my friend means like major information like the exact storyline, and lightsabre moves etc....

Actually, LEC is releasing the information on the game. Atleast, that's what the Raven developers working on the game told us at the jk.net board. It is lucasarts' game, Raven is just making it for them, so I guess that would make sense.
I guess I was just wondering what you guys think will happen or want to happen with the storyline. So give us some ideas!

Guys, Kyle can't possibly be fighting the Vong 'cause they haven't even come into the galaxy yet! In the most recent chat with LEC, Haden Blackman revealed that JK2 took place 13-14 years after the Battle of Yavin, and that becomes 9-10 years after the Battle of Endor. The Vong don't arrive 'til 21 years after the Battle of Endor.
There are only two sith. The Emperor and Vader. Both are dead. No more sith...Unless a holocron or other artifact is found.
OK...Some dark Jedi finds a sith holocron and trains from it. He then trains a legion(about 10) others in the ways of the sith. They attempt to defeat the New Republic.

I think, the New Jedi order series are very good, but newer story of Kyle Katarn is before Vong times.. I hope, We'll meet a great Sith like Exar Kun..

yes, Exar has gone...but we would like to see a Dark Sith Lord...you know something mystic... The Vong is good idea..

Luke is a light Jedi forever..but He might help Katarn...because Kyle is not strong as Luke, I can image a scene when Kyle and Luke fight against Dark Lords and Vong...

There arnt just the emperor and vader as the sith. Yes, there can only be two at a time. But now they are dead another two could rise!
Luke is Kyle's master so Skywalker has to help Katarn all over the place..
a good idea: A Sith Lord leads and helps Vong troops so Luke and Kyle have to keep back them.
maybe we'll see luke rescuing both kyle and jan :)
on Yavin4 Luke will teach Kyle in the Massassi temple, I hope, Luke will help KAtarn on his own way.
And the end of the story Luke rescues Kyle..

When did Luke become Katarn's master if anything I, (my own opinion however right it may be :p ;) ) think Katarn could beat the crap outa that farmboy any day of the week.
We actually never saw Kyle train did we. He just got a lightsabre and became this amazing Jedi.
Luke wants kyle to show him the ways of the facial hair. To help him fulfil his potential. This new threat is:
"Wilkinson Sword Man. - so tough he has to be kept behind bars (R)"
They both have to work together to wipe him out for good and rid him from the galaxy...
On a serious note I would rather not want to discuss the plot as I would like to specualate when LEC give us some more info to think about, that will make it more interesting..

well, about this luke being kyles master, that was over before MotS because luke sent Mara to learn from Kyle, i dont think an apprentice can have an apprentice, that would defeat the system. i doubt it will involve luke too much, because this i set in the middle of many other stories, so if luke was involved in a big way, it might not flow to well, course, that hasnt stopped people before, and, im still wondering how LEC could trush some other company to make a pivotal game like this, if it were me, i wouldnt let anybody else touch it, i mean, if this game sucks, it might piss a lot of people off... well, anyway, i think im over time....
I don't think you have to worry about the game "sucking" cause Raven is probably the best developer of first person shooters right now. Also, you should keep in mind that LEC is working with Raven to make sure the story and everything is authentic Star Wars. The game will be good, just how good is the question.

I think JKII should include a good story and good multiplayer mode with bot (in single and multi mode) where we can play in single mode and we can practice with bot...

You don't need a story for multiplayer, but half the game is made for single player.
well i wasnt too worried about it sucking, i was more worried about it staying close to the star wars genre, i know riven makes good games, i played a few of them! i didnt know how closely LEC was working with them, so this quiets any fear i may have about it straying from the rest of the series. :)

What eggzactly is a dedicated server. Is it like the zone?
Or is it like a hardline into the game?
They use them in Half-Life mod games (CS, TFC) all the time, basically players come in and out as they please, server is up 24/7 running the game, since its a quake type engine, it gives clients and server ops unlimited freedom in the settings as other players who play HL/Quake type games will vouch.
BTW, if they have them I WILL BE RUNNING A JK2 DEDICATED SERVER!!
Thats the one thing i wish JK had had. I hate Zone. HL's way is better.

A Sith leading the Vong would never work because the Sith hate all "infidels".
I have an idea for the Jedi Academy level.
The Bad guys' forces attack the academy and it's up to Kyle and Luke to stop them. At some points you will be helped by Luke, sometimes you split up, and other times some jedi students will help.
Dedicated servers.. it's ok!
by the way, atteck of the Jedi academy is a good idea!

I wouldn't worry too much about locales - the main thing is we are going to cloud city!! WOOT! Imagine the MP on that baby, the carbon freeze chamber!, the gantry! - I can feel the carbonite already! :)

Well, the best places are Cloud City, Endor, Yavin4, Hoth, Death Star, NAr Shada, Tatuin, and more. :)
I'd say it's a pretty safe bet we will see Luke in the game due to the fact that the Jedi Academy will be a level and location.

That would also be very cool if we could team up with him for atleast that level if not another. Think about what can be done if you have the ability to team up with others...you could have a level where you needed to escort an R2 unit to a blast door in order to reach the Moldy Crow. There are simply too many enemies to attack, only the r2 unit can help you. It'll be interesting to see if any of this "teaming up" actually occurs.

I always thought a great idea for a level (SP or MP) would be the roofs of coruscant. you would have to jump from roof to roof or something, going through buildings, cause none of the buildings are the same height, but if you had to chase a bounty hunter or someone across planetside. maybe it wouldnt be feasible to do it rooftop, but at least you could include streets, and the tops of some buildings.

personally, im amazed people have NEVER heard of dedicated servers...they are like...the root of all non-Zone games
i detest the zone in all its forms, none more strongly than the Power-Trippin sysops...why, i can remember the times when the Zone (JK especially) was 100% sysop free...there was no bs, and it was enjoyable, now their is nothing left but crap and a-holes (heh)
if Outcast is on the Zone...so help me God, i will rip open the coding, and SOMEHOW get to a dedicated server

Oh nothing...just the traffic there is horrible you're better off walking to the other side of the city between the hours of 9:00 and 5:00. So many Disneyworld people...it's horrible! I'm sure the real city is nice though, we stayed in the city that Mickey built. =)
